BMTranny's evo makes 335whp@307ft lbs

Did some tweaking to the evo and it put up a good number. The HKS 272's made a huge difference. We did the cat-back and the cams and picked up 38 hp. Idle is smooth as well, very surprising. the car pulls right up to 7k. I will post up dyno chart results when i get time.

There has been some talk about the gearing in the car. We are currently working on the problem. Hopefully in the near future everyone will have better trap MPH. Longer 3rd and 4 th gears are in the works ..

Is anyone aware of a place to pickup a different final gear ratio? Something a little lower to stretch out all the gears would be nice. Something maybe like the one used in the Norris Designs car, or maybe one half way inbetween that and stock.

Congrats. I'm assuming you're building your Evo primarily as a drag car? I hope to check it out some day.

BTW, Mark check your PM's.

Mark here is what I don’t get about the EVO guys complaining about gearing. All the DSM guys complain that ALL the good slicks, et streets, and radials are too tall. It seems to me that these tires that are too tall for a DSM would make it just about perfect for an EVO with gears that are too short. I think it might be simpler/easier then a gearset change.

Non nos ?? how bout the TEIN suspension (set to 10 ) the bigger intercooler, the manifold , clutch ect ect ect. I dont think your low 1.6 60's are any match for my 1.8's. Maybe with the same mods in the near future i'll take you up on that. I hear through the grape vine you want to race everyone... Good luck.

Wed i'll be at island with my talon. i still love the power of the evo on PUMP GAS and keep it mainly on the street. The dyno sheet ill get up later today.

A smaller tire on the evo would increase the rpm through the traps. Its unfortunate that 4th gear runs out so quick. Like you said about the dsm guys. I know John shepard goes through the traps on slicks past 9000. True to form if you put 19" tires on your car ..you would go through the traps at a lower rpm. I think the gearing would be the way to go. As far as changing the final drive. The front diff in a dsm tranny is now the center diff on an evo tranny. changing the final drive in anything you must address the gearing in the transfer case and the rear end. I think once people start making dsm power in the evo's its def not going to work on the stock gearing. Even now the dsm need more gearing in 4th. I just feel bad for the STI guys who have to shift 5th at the track ......

I just figured it would be fun to do a side by side - - as we have the same exact HP and TRQ figures! I would still like to see how your dyno sheet compare s to my 264 sheet I posted on the forum.

Drag racing on the track is my hobby and I do prefer to race evos - if I can.

etc, etc, etc. . . etc. is also my hobby and I expect to see more etc.'s in the near future !

I can't race anyone now as I blew up my stock clutch on my pass today - it was slipping very bad in 2nd - but I was very happy to bust out a 11.80 pass

How many hours is the clutch R & R in the evo?

Hopefully I'll have my car back in action by the summer slam !

BTW is that Island place the one where they crack down real hard on tech inspection? I may have to pay them a visit after I fix up my clutch as it seems I am getting black listed and thrown off tracks at a very quick rate without a cage.

Tonight I hit 118.57 in the 1/4 but I lifted right before the end to avoid hitting the rev limiter - I was way over 7,000 - - I think about 119 would be the max on the stock gears so my 1/4 mile times of today should prove hard to beat

As for the STI shifters - it did suck - the 6 speed is NOT a drag box - I had that tranny in my suby that went 124 mph in the 1/4 and almost had to shift into 6th in the 1/4 - - it was a strong tranny but very bad gears
