Evo IX Crate engine

Can anyone help. I am looking to buy a complete Evo IX Mivec crate engine

Does anybody know who has one in stock and for how much?

I have tried a few vendors that are advertising as having them but when you contact them to order - no engine available

cheers

John

Whats the difference between the 6speed and 5speed motor? If they are US spec aren't they the same across the board, regardless of which tranny they use????

tried some dealers but they are saying these engines are no longer available

got a quote from Lancershop just wondering if there are any selling for less

I think you have to buy 5 or 6 speed due to the clutch being different on 5 an 6 speed models

Yeah but the fly wheel can come out....but that shouldn't make the engines different.

You could get a built motor for what they're asking for that.

Just realised you're in the UK, better bend over for a good shafting off Mitsubishi UK

I think the Lancershop.com price is a good one but you still have to ship it and get raped for import and VAT onces its landed there. I'd offer to bring one back in my luggage next month but I don't think it would fit

Have you tried Graham Goode Racing, Norris Designs, etc.?

The crate motors Lancershop supply come with the clutch and flywheel included, I suppose they don't want to be swapping those over everytime they sell an engine.

I am having a complete engine build done in the US from scratch using Cosworth components. The idea being I get a complete Evo IX crate motor which we can 'rob' the parts required for the build and then I can sell the rest in the UK.

Second hand Evo IX engines in th UK are trading for around £6000.00 so you can see why I would rather buy in the US

Mitsubishi UK are not that bad they have just given me a new gearbox after 3rd gear let go

cheers
