evo 8 vs aston martin db9

i went on a party bus last night and met one of my close friend's father. we were all just talking having a good time and all the sudden he starts talking about my car saying how he would rip me a new one in a 1/8th mile race. i then said every thursday night irwindale speedway has 1/8th mile races. so we decided that we will do this this week at the track. my current mods are a turboback exhuast, intake, upeper intercooler pipe, and boost control at 20 psi. his db9 is 100% stock. what do you guys all think?

I think this aston will tear you a new one. It'd be even worse if it was a 1/4 mile.

A db9 is rated at 450hp at a curb weight of a spec'd 3769 (!)

Considering Aston claims a 4.9 second 0-60 sprint and thats what our Evos are best at, and this is a short race...he's going to have one very quiet ride home.

Between now and then try and get some sort of fuel management accomplished and i think you'll see a surprised aston owner.

run 23 psi, get a FP, and a tune if you don't have one. Launch hard and you might get him.

Let me rephrase that, kind of...

I dont think its going to be an embarrassment. I just dont believe that that car is THAT much faster from a standing start.

All this is assuming you know how to drive, of course.

Race gas and a hell of a launch. You might get the 1/8. He'll own you in the 1/4

Your car should be a tad quicker in a short race, so it all depends on the driver....

13.1 in the 1/4 stock for them. I don't see any ownage in the 1/4 for the Aston.

No contest if you have already run a 12.55, because your biggest advantage will be in the front half (1/8th).
