How about testimony from a person who owns a B5 S4 and an Evo IX?

Most people can't tell between the Lancer and the Evo. I've had people ask if it was an Eclipse.

An S4 and an A4 are very similar aside from the larger engine, and an A4 is nothing to be ashamed of

B5 S4= Can be insanely fast if you have the money!
Remember we are comparing a 4banger evo with a twin turbo monster. If I were you and had the money go with the S4, slap some K04's and make it a day!!!!!

My father goes to work as a school administrator in a suit in a fully built 6 bolt 2g GSX on occasion. Loud exhaust, FMIC, afermarket wheels. I should ask him what his co-workers think when he steps out But actually he has an Audi A4 1.8t as a daily.

Audi's are defiantly much more mature, but EVO's are probably more fun. what ever is truley more important. Do what others said, and just take off the wing. You could always go for an RS4

with your particular car?

i have known numerous that had problems with different electrical problems.

i ran into a couple myself that had interior illumination issues.
as well as passats and a4s from those years.

the walking to meetings was meant in jest as i followed up with the fact that i love those cars

a car that is six to seven years old should be closely watched to be reliable transportation to business meetings

on the other hand,
most issues with evos are self inflicted

I owned an '01 S4 for almost 3 years and it was one of the nicest '365 day' cars to own. It did everything right and was a highway monster. I racked up 40k miles with nary a problem, with one HUGE exception... they are FAVORITES among theives.

The car can be stolen in seconds, and the HIDs even faster. Don't be suprised to go into the store and come out to find a hole in your door, your headlights gone, or worse.

Nogaro Blue is so heavenly though...

The highest HP and fastest/quickest Evo's (1/4, track) destroy any S4 out there, K04, GT28, whatever.

well if somebody ask you this is an eclipse.. for me its a little strech.

Lets face it:
the Evo vs Lancer is from out side day and night, period.
The S4 vs A4 from out side is way more simular.
i didn't thougt we going to argue there.
just put those cars next to each other.
Evo - lancer - eclipse
A4 - S4

I looked into the RS4 and other higher priced cars. While they are all nice, I don't want to pay $1900/Month for a leased car. I'd rather buy a less expensive car and own it, and flip it when i want.

I am going to call tomorrow on the S4, and maybe go to the dealership to look at the Evo in person again.

I hear what your saying and Image is somewhat important in your field.... however the s4 is an awesome car, sharp and OMG comfortable, I would strongly suggest that over the evo, IMO, I think that i have grow out of my evo and find myself looking more at the s4 M3 over a new evo 9.

Something you might have forgotten.
I think that your also forgetting the 335XI, Twin Turbo i6 Similiar to the s4 just newer, and in typical BMW fashion you'll pull off your Image quota and still have some fun in style.
when i was running a lease on one not too long ago. i was at 579 by 36 months and they ran that at MSRP 12k year lease. with 1500 outta pocket, your lease maybe different but something to consider.
