You must be joking? Evo or S4?
If u go to business meetings, meet clients/investors (like I do)in an EVO - u will attract curiousity and attention - both of which WILL land u alot of business ! You will be defined as an 'out-of-the-box' executive. A person who will break the rules, boost savings/profits and most importantly unique !! Ofcourse the EVO wont grant u such qualities but it's a wicked topping !!

If ur business associates expect an 'immature' person only because u drive an EVO, then stun them with ur PR, marketing, technical skills which should seal ur deals anyways...

HOWEVER if u lack all those skills then yes get the S4. Capiche?

The s4 hands down is a great ride. But the Evo is in a dimension of its own.

All I can say is last year I drove my Sales Manager and Office Manager to a seminar and this was my Sales Managers quote "We need to sell more so Bret can afford a car that comes with a suspension"---true story

Very well put.

The Evo isn't for everyone - like I said in the other thread, it's a car with the quality of a $12,000 econobox with no suspension but the performance of a $50,000 sports car. It's an awesome driving experience and I find it perfectly comfortable for DDing (except for all those damn rattles!) but it definitely has its niche market.

Do you absolutely need the AWD? An M3 would be a great compromise. Pretty fast, handles and brakes very well, and much more comfortable/higher quality than the Evo. If the AWD is essential, you might also check out a Volvo S60R. Plenty of power and good handling but very inexpensive.

The Volvo S60R is a very nice car.... awd.. turbo.. quick.. nice interior .. sharp exterior... Cool Suspension technology.
The only problems I have with the car is....
Back seat and Trunk are relatively small for that class of car.
and the foot well area on the driver side... is very cramped.
I wear a size 10.5 shoe.. and my feet literally hit the bottom of the dash. It's like they designed the foot space.. for 5' tall women.

Overall daily driving the S4 will be better in every way. When you buy an EVO you make quite a few compromises in comparison to an S4.

Go for the 9. I wear business attire Mon. thru Fri. and still look good stepping out of the Evo.

Go with the IX (maybe wingless??). Impress them with your business skills, that'll go much further than an S4...

Agreed, but I would mark up both of your number figures. Yes, the quality of the interior leaves something to be desired, but that is not the reason to purchase this car. Also, this car performs as well on a road course as 6-figure vehicles. If you find a potential client making light of the Evo you are driving them in, just have some fun with it--it very well may help you out in the long run. Good luck with your decision.

To the OP - If you're that worried about image, then why not look at something like a 5-7 year old A8/S8 or M5? I've owned plenty of Audi's - very nice daily drivers, but man is the maintenance expensive if you can't DIY.

If you're thinking Evo for DD, then I'd strongly consider the MR - much more compliant suspension than the GSR or RS.
