is a 6 puck clutch?
i need to order a clutch tonight and i cant decide between the act 6 puck and the street disc....
the 6 puck is cheaper and holds more torque, but i hear the street disc has a very smooth engagement. how does a 6 puck clutch hold up compared to a street disc?
what do you think about the fidanza flywheel also?
and are the 5 and 6 speed flywheels the same?
thanks a lot

I DD my 6puck and I love it.. Dont get a sprung clutch!!!!! They make no difference except thesprings will fall out leaving holes in the disc which will cause the disc to shatter! ACT themselves told my friend with an sti not to get the sprung clutch!! I also have a fidanza lightened flywheel, and its been fine till a week ago when my starter decided to rip out a couple teeth.. Oh well.. Ill change it when they are all gone! haha
this has been discussed. All you have to do is adjust the clutch.
ACT is absolutely the best bang for your buck. Many people here in Vegas have ran it including myselt and have had no problems with it.
The 6 puck is very annoying for dd. It will engage rough and chatter a lot. if you're gonna be doing a lot of drag racing I would advise staying away from this clutch.
ACT will engage like stock, smooth.

NO, it won't. And if it does it won't be for long. At the very least with that much power I would look into a twin disc set-up

^^ So your saying in your earllier post an act wont handle it.. But then saying it was better than your exedy 6 puck and took more abuse??? Not trying to start an arguement, just confused on where you stand..
Sorry, let me clarify:
I had and exedy stage 3, 6 puck clutch VIII. The thing was horrible for daily driving. It chatered and made all kinds of noises. Then it went out at 3k miles. So much for an $800 clutch
My next clutch was the ACT HD street disc. And IMHO, it's the best freakin daily driver/track clutch for your money. Granted you don't want to be running a crap load of power and beating the crap out of it everyday all day.
But, this thing was freakin great and I'm still running one in my IX right now.
Does that help?
