Lemon buyback a bad idea?

I found an 06 IX GG with 9k miles for $26k. The thing is, it was a lemon buyback, it still has the full warranty, in great shape, etc... Is it a bad idea to buy one of these cars? especially because it shows up on the carfax report?

thanks!

Would someone mind explaining what a lemon/buyback is? How can an 06 with 9K be a lemon. Is it just a factory freak in a bad way?

I've been looking for a used evo and have come across cars with salvage titles that were in bad accidents and were repaired and look good as new. I also have come across a car or two that has a regular title but is shown to be a lemon/buyback at one time on carfax but now runs fine.

A car becomes a lemon buy back when you keep having to take it to the dealer to get fixed. im not sure if its how many times you bring it back or how much the repairs accrue.

I would say definitely not. You are just asking for headaches you don't need. Like it has been mentioned just spend a little bit more for a brand new one.

That's only like $1,700 under what I paid for my SE with 2 miles on it. Not a good deal, AND it's a lemon. Do not want!

Thanks for the explanation. So would you guys ever buy a lemon / buyback car if it was in perfect running condition and all of the previous problem/s were fixed. (If you could get a good deal.) Or do you stay away from these no matter what.

If the car runs fine I don't see the problem. I see a problem trying to sell it down the road. Thoughts? Thanks!

I would always stay away from buying a lemon. It's a headache you just don't want. You would always have that little voice in your head wondering when it's going to break down.

Hell, I worry about my Evo way more than I should just because of how completely terrible my SE-R was.
