Back wipers going backwards!!!

Okay just like the title says, my back wipers are acting stupid. Instead of going from left to right, it’s trying to go left and smacking down in the trunk. It was fine last few times I used it until one morning and saw my wiper pressing down on my trunk. I don’t know what it can be, if it’s a fuse or what? Should I take it to the dealership and just try to fix it, maybe resetting it by disconnecting a fuse. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The stud comes out with the motor. Heres a link of my car with a rubber plug for the hole

I say leave it on. It can be handy at times especially when it is raining.

sounds like the motor jumped a couple teeth. Take it to the dealer and have them repair that... and any paint that might have chipped off because of this.

But see it doesnt sound like the motor jumped, it is going backwards. So instead of it going from left to right, its trying to go left and smacking the trunk

The wiper shaft the wiper arm rides on is splined and the nut comes loose sometimes, it probably came loose and the wiper got mis adjusted.
