Considering buying a new evo

i was promised any car i wanted for graduation and it's an evo. i was thinking about the new 2008 320HP version. is this a smart decision considering i know how to drive a stick but it's been a few years and i never had enough practice to get really good at it.

Yeah if my parents were rich and would buy me any car, I would go higher than an evo(skyline...M5...higher?)

I would start off with something less powerful like a Miata MX-5 and learn how to drive a sports car first. You will kill yourself and or others in an EVO.

That comment just made this kid more determined to buy this Evo.

He's completely correct for 95% of that demograph. I hope your parents know how much the insurance and maintaince is on the car!

Get something with less power and a stick shift first, if you learn on the evo, you'll definitely blow the clutch prematurely and you could damage other parts as well. Starting with a car like an evo or an STi is just asking for trouble.
