Freakish Gas Mileage

14.1 gallon tank guys. I usually get about 260-290 per tank before the empty light comes on. I'm sure there is about 2 gallons left in the tank when the light comes on.

There's nothing "freakish" about the original post. Baltimore -> Raleigh on one tank (330.4 miles) and this includes AC and hideous NOVA traffic.

I get about 180 miles before my light comes on and never fill up over 10.5 gallons. What is the deal, and I'm not even in driving it hard, shifting at 3K-3500K every gear, plus the car is stock.

i always average 17mpg. i usually get a little over 200miles with a 12 gallon fill
i only get above 20 when i do long freeway trips

the evo is defnately a sub 20mpg car

Wow, you guys do get some bad mileage. My normal driving which is no highway, some open roads but mostly city driving usually yeilds around 21-23mpg. Took a trip this summer from PA to FL and back on I95 the whole way. Averaged anywhere from 85-95mph give or take. Every time I filled up I calculated about 24mpg with the last two tanks on the way back at about 26-27mpg. All of these were hand calculated upon fillup.
