I use to rip around a lot more after I finished the break in period. But lately I rarely floor it or even boost at all on the street. I hated having to fill up gas every other day or once every three days. Going fast in a straight line with the Evo is fun but compared to cornering at the Auto-X or in the mountains- its a waste of gas!

Sometimes I feel bad for not getting on it that often while my evo still has decent milage. I suppose it will last longer in the long run.

Question off topic since I didn’t want to start a new thread for a simple question.
My Evo just turned 3500 mls and I went up to 100mph/4000rpm for the first time. My question is, is 3500 mls enough for breaking in period and actually start having some fun?

I redline mine almost everyday or atleast close to redline. I don't do it every time I take off, usually shift at about 4500rpm or less for normal driving. Launched the car about 15 times total, about 5 times with my exedy twin disc, and about 18 dyno pulls. I think she likes it.

PLENTY!! You're good to go man. 1000 miles would have been plenty.

I just don't find enough space to flog it very often. Every now and then you find that pefect opening and then wow triple digits ok back off. But with socal traffic, I am sure I beat the clutch every day.
