Right now i drive a stage 2 WRX. well there is a silver evo VIII for sale 80 miles away. i went and looked at it last night and really liked it. drove good, nice and clean, ect. BUT it has as SALVAGE title. BUT he only wants 14.900 for it. he said for my subaru and 5k he'd trade me straight up. do i want this evo for this insane deal? the car is immaculate and he said he got rear ended and while the car was at the shop some kids jacked the front bumper and the spoiler and that bumped it over the 5k limit. Yay or nay?

 

For not much more you can get a NON SALVAGE TITLE. If it were me I wouldn't risk it...

 

I wouldn't pay anywhere near that much for an Evo with a salvage title.

 

5K shouldn't total an EVO either, its usually 75% of actual value that kills it... So start thinking that car has had near 11-15K worth of damage somewhere to be salvage... No Go if it were me....

 

Why would you want to buy a car with a salvage title? It may seem like a good idea now, wait till you go to get rid of it...
Spend the couple extra $'s and get a car that hasn't been crashed.

 

+1^ There is definately something wrong with this picture I think BS that the bumper "got stolen" and the wing too. It takes alot to get a title to be in salvage status. Call a local junk yard or comtact a company that rebuilds cars and they will tell you the same thing.

+1^ The salvage title will be a freakin nightmare for you when you go to sell the car. I know that getting out of the STI and gettin in the EVO is makin you cream your jeans but save your money and do it right buy one with a clean title.
