I actually need to add something to my previous post. The number we are using for trade in is 22k which is what they said it's worth. It is only worth to them for the most part what a wholesaler is willing to pay which is in the neighborhood of Manheim auction numbers. This guarantees them security. Depending on its real worth will fluctuate the real sale price of the MR. Its just a numbers game. Some dealers will lose money on a sale to show productivity, or meet a quota in which they get bonuses, etc, etc. At least you have an idea of the numbers and you are definitely within a window based on the 22k. Below are Manheim numbers for October for an evo IX. Hope this helps you a little.

Auction $25,300 $23,500 $21,600

By my math....
22000-14000= 8000

29000+8000=37000 is what you are paying for the car, plus the 1000 down right?

$38000 for an '06 IX

MSRP from edmunds is ~35k

Good deal for them if you ask me

if its a total of 38k for the IXmr that means the the price of the car is around 33k. which should be just right but i bet you could get it a bit lower.

haha! 38k w/o taxes is a terrible deal! drive that out of the dealership and its worth automatically 10k less, hehe!

sell your viii and then look for an ix. i know quite a few people who followe this path and ended up only paying like 7k more.
