Well, Kary is a good friend of mine and he used to work for Phil Long up until he quit this year to start a business with me. I might even be able to give you my BNSF discount as well. As far as my Evo VIII, I drive around the springs every now and then. I used to live off of Old Broadmoor Rd so I would drive all over. But I really don't know of any Evo owners around who like to do much.

I owe 14k on it

With $1000 down, they'll lemmie take the IX out the door (includes taxes) for 29k.

Good deal or bad deal
I would DO IT!!!

judging from the size of this thead all i can say is that the dealer did a good job at confusing the sheait out of you, so they can sneak in for the kill, something stinks

ok edit so here my math

22000 is what they are giving you for an 8 (sounds unbelievable so far
-14000 is what you owe
=8000 equity
-1000 you put down
=7000 equity

so now

7000 equity
+29000 out the door
=36000

Paying 36000K for an 06MR when the X is about to come out is NO DEAL to me

i dont know about anyone else

P.S. I did not read past page 1 so someone else might have already done this; if so, i apologize

Adivse, just go in there and tell them simple,

1. i will give you my car
2. i will give you 13000
3. i will finance through you

BAM, BAM, BAM,

that way you will only be financing 27000 (14000+13000) and no 1000USD down, so this deal is better by 3000USD from what they are giving you thats more reasonable

Since when has any dealer made sence of any deal? This is how these b@stards make their money. My friend told me of countless times they were mad to rip people off. Ever notice when you come into a dealer they always ask "so how much can you spend a month?" This is because you may be looking at a car that would normally cost you $250 a month, but lets say you told them that you want to stay in the low $300. Then that same car that you could have gotten for $250 is now $310 cause they stayed in your price range. In cases like these, they inflate the interest rate to get to your ballpark figure. So as confusing as this explanation was, dealers never make sense.

Haha, he kept asking me "so if i do this will we earn your business today??" It got annoying after awile. I would never buy a car the same day i drove it, they take advantage of impulse buyers.

I want to see a deal that really is as low as they can get it. My trade in is as good as new.

no dont do the deal.. that means 36k for an mr. they are trying to get the mr's off the lot for the new X.. u should be able to get a mr for 32k...

if u can get it off the lot for 25k then go for it.. otherwise keep ur car and just swap bumpers!

That is a BAD deal. The car will depreciate HUGE when you drive it off the lot, since it is an 06. Also, as soon as the X comes out (in a matter of months at this point), you will lose another chunk of value.

So, you would get $29k in debt, and be upside down on the car real quick.

Yes, it is a new car, technically, but it's not much different from your 8, and on top of that, you said your 8 is in great shape. Just keep the 8, the lower debt, and the lower insurance.

You guys are screwing the numbers up. You dont subtract the downpayment from the equity in the trade, you add it to the equity. Go back and reread my threads, IF he can get to the 450 payment, the total for the CAR would be just barely over 32k Not including tax, tag, title.

And I might work for a dealership, but I am unbias'ed to the deal. Im not making any money off this, so there is no point in my trying to over charge him. Like I have been saying, there is room in the deal for him to get a lower payment and the dealer keep the deal going.
