Its not necessarily the overall price i'm talking about but how much they are trying to say taxes and the like are. I live in SoCal which has high taxes and licensing fee's and smog fee's and all that stuff and it still won't come out to $8k. It seems like they are trying to hide the profit. I've seen Evo IX's around here in LA going for $30k. but i know it could be different else where. You've already got an VIII bro, keep it for a little while till the X's drop.

Where did you get 8k tax from?

29000 Evo 9
1000 downpayment
22500 Evo8 worth
14500 payoff
56 term
7.2% rate
comes to a 493 monthly payment
29000 X .08 = 2320 (which taxes will be less because they tax what is financed)

Getting a NEW 9 for the price of what USED ones are selling for is a deal.

He said the 29k price includes the 8k in equity he has and his 1k downpayment. So, that means, without that they are valuing the car at roughly 38k. That doesn't seem high to you?

$38,000 Evo 9
$1000 downpayment
$22,500 evo 8 worth
$14,500 payoff
$8,000 in equity
Put the 9k toward teh evo to bring the total price to $29,000 to finance? that does not sound like a deal to me.

You dont do car deals that way. The BANK wont finance that much on the 2006 Evo's because they are in the Black Book (official used car market guide) Because the Evo's are in that book, they bank tells the dealer how much they will loan against it.

Even if you ignore that, figure it out yourself. 56*500=28000 total financed. That includes all fees, %'s, cost of the vehicle. It does not add up to 38k.

Im guessing that the taxes are around 3-4k... but all of that is in the 29k finance charge.... so with the trade in and 1000 down its more like 32-33k for the car

YOu said they are giving you 22k for your car right? and you owe 14k? so that means you will have an extra 8k after that. are you using that money in the deal or are you keeping it? I just dont see how you coming up with 9k of your own money on this car and its still 29k. LOL, my brain hurts.

For someone who was asing arround the forums on pricing on an Evo 9 16 days ago, you speak very confidintly that this car is too much.

What you are not seeing is that he is "trading" a 14k loan for a 28k loan. looking at it in those extremely simplified wording, it is a 15k car.

That isnt actual "money" he is getting. He will never have that in his hand. That is unless he retails his car on his own.

Yup, pretty dead on

But that still means I have a 29k balance to pay off
