OMG how do they make this for this price????!!!!!

That's ridiculous and the quality looks OK from the pictures. I guess the only way of finding out if they are any good is to buy one and try it!

Its the same junk quality, decent welds and INCREDIBLY thin tubing you always get from ssauto.

The only difference is the fact that those aren't polished. I wonder who's manifold that is that they ripped off...

But you could afford to crack 10 manifolds for the price you'd pay for a top brand manifold.

I wonder how it flows. It looks like it would flow OK. What are your opinions? $130 that is completly insane price.

They don't even know what a 35/38mm wg flange looks like. They also say its 321 stainless, I find that hard to believe.

But hey, at least its got a flex section!

It's not flanged for the stock turbo.

I'd rather pay $400 - $600 for a decent manifold guaranteed to last opposed to having to buy a manifold everytime one breaks.

That's if I was interested in purchasing a tubular. Personally I have the Muse Motorsports pre-ported cast exhaust manifold which will suit most people considering thier EVO's are daily drivers.

Even if it was 321 it wouldn't make a difference unless the piping was thick enough to endure the physical stress of something that heavy (which it's not).

321 is great when used in correct applications but this is just silly.

Why wouldn't it make a difference? You are presuming that the walls on this manifold are thin. I know what you're thinking - cheap manifolds mass produced in China etc usually scrimp on material, have poor welds and don't fit that well but without examining and testing the product it is unfair to slam it. Just because it's cheap doesn't necessarily mean its crap. If the material grade/design is good and the manufacture is of consistent quality there's nothing stopping it from be a OK without a huge price tag. Just my opinion.

I know who manufacturers their manifolds and I know what thier limits are in terms of piping thickness. That's how I know it's junk.

It's not a matter of speculation, it's just fact. I'm not saying it's junk because of cheap, I'm saying it's junk because ssauto & xspower don't care about their customers, they'll sell them anything as long as they can get your money.

Other manufacturers focus on longevity where as they'll focus on lower cost.

Good point Steve. But what if you didn't intend to sell the parts? I mean when it comes to selling the car if you left the parts on the car you wouldn't loose that much. I don't think it would devalue the car at this point in time (yes it would when the Evo becomes a classic car) plus you wouldn't have to go though the hassle and cost of taking the bolt ons off and refitting stock. I think there are positives and negatives for buying cheap parts over reputable brands. Bang for buck being a plus and quality and reliability being a negative obviously. I tell you what though all the guys with top brand turbo kits would be pretty miffed if a cheap mass produced kit was hitting similar performance figures and wasn't breaking.

Here is an idea : If top tuners offered cheap turbo kits they would make good money if they had a reliable product they could back up with a "if you break it we'll replace it" warranty. It could be risky and I guess it's all about having a good product that you have confidence in. It's defiantly feasible and in my opinion would cater for a large portion of the Evo tuning market. In my opinion people would be all over a budget turbo kit that the likes of AMS or Buschur offered. The resale of such a budget part would increase if it had a reputable brand name on it. Could be a money maker.

A good example of this priciple is Hyundai - their cars are cheap but have fantastic warranties. It works for them and I'm sure they break lol
