Ebay Evo Project
Ebay Evo Project
I am tired of the Ebay threads…..
I am building an Ebay Evo…..
Most parts will be sourced through ebay
Some will be name brand and some will not
I will post update pics and project costs and breakdowns
We will see how she performs
Background: I have been tuning vehicles for 6 years. My project vehicles have included awd talons, 240sxs ka and sr, ls1 and lt1 camaros, v8 s10s,1.8t vws, is300 2jz's, omni glhs and now the evo. (owned and tuned all listed) I have been around the block and know some of these parts work so put your flamethrowers in your closet and lets do this thing.

Why dont you just go directly to www.ssautochrome.com to buy the parts? Anything on ebay comes from there anyway. Ebay does not make the parts you know.
Actually I have bought parts from them before. i bought a mnifold from them and then reinforced it for my 240. It never cracked. My goal in this thread is not to glorify ebay parts but show once and for all that you dont have to drop big bucks for some extra whp. I am noticing a correlation between the purchase price of the vehicles and the level of vajjs. (ps. there are some cool ***** on here) Whatever works fellas. I have a wife and two kids and frankly if I gain 25 instead of 30 on a part 1/3 the price, so be it. And kudos to BR for selling ebay 02's.

go for it. we need this. E-bay evo!
but as soon as you got the brand name ,then no more an e-bay evo , just a used parts one. Don't be confused between only e-bay stuff or the used HKS from e-bay...

Pretty much everything on my car is from ebay and in my sig it will show you don't have to spend a lot of money to go fast or get quality. Here comes the can of worms.
From Ebay:
XS power TBE $240.00 shipped to the door
HKS style intake $95.00 shipped to the door
Tune with ECUFLASH $ FREE FREE
Being able to run a 11.83@115mph in Sac, Ca (PRICELESS) Powered by Ebay will be my new sticker for windshield!!!!!!
Just kidding I would never do that to my EVO!@!!!

The ONLY "performance" orientated part on my car that didn't come from ebay or the classified section here, was my tactrix cable.
I have less than $1k into my car and put down 279 awhp on Buschurs Mustang dyno.

ebay parts are great for DIY guys. most often the parts don't fit perfectly and need a little work but if you have the tools and knowhow, you can save a lot of money. most people with high end cars would just rather pay the extra money to have a peace of mind knowing the parts will fit and have warranty.
