Brembo's take on Caliper peel?
Hi!!
I just verified with Mitsubishi America that the Brembos are covered on the 3 Yr/ 36K Miles Warranty. Mine has 24K miles and will bringing the car soon for a replacement.

I talked to Brandon from Brembo too and he said the same thing. so then I called a total of 60 dealerships until one said he would check into it and come to find out it is a warrantied item under the original 36 month 36000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, but unfortunately I am over the 36 months and I am stuck like the rest of us who have 2003 Evos. Good luck
P.S. I LOVE MY EVO but will never buy a Mitsu product again I hope they go bankrupt and never cheat customers again

I have 7000 miles on my car. The dealership did not want to replace my calipers. I called Mitsu, and told them I had spoken to the dealer and they did not replace my calipers. I said "I BOUGHT YOUR MOST EXPENSIVE CAR AND I EXPECT THE BEST SERVICE". The next day A supervisor called me. Then the dealer service department called. They set up A date and now I have new calipers. The moral of the story if you dont ***** they wont do nothin. good luck.
Well it seems Mitsu is lightening up a bit on these calipers. Same as with the spoilers back when everyone was claiming them. I personally got a new spoiler and 4 new calipers here in '07 with absolutely no resistance. I am probably one of the few to give Mitsu a big A+ on their warranty.
This thread just brings back sour memories. I took my 03 to the dealer for pealing paint when it was still under warranty. The first time they looked at it they told me I must have used cleaners on it. I informed him that detailing cars is a hobby/second job of mine and I would never think of doing such a thing. I told him how this problem is wide spread amongst Evos and other people were getting theirs replaced. He said he couldn't make the decision and I would have to talk to a regional manager. Two weeks later I came in to see the regional rep and he basically laughed at the idea of replacing them. So I decided to go ballistic, I called them every degrading word in the English language in front of a whole showroom full of people, then I turned to the people and explained the story to them and told them all to think twice before buying a car from that dealer.
Well i bought my 03 evo with 27000 miles on it and was told the warranty doesn't transfer to the second owner. The clearcoat started to peel a few months later so i went to the dealership and raised hell. Don't take no for an answer because it cost the dealership nothing to replace the brakes. If anything they make money from corporate, which are the ones that pay for the new brakes and the install. The service manager has the power to make it happen, just stand your ground. The only reason i can think of for them not to do it is if you have a crazy amount of miles on the car or something. Don't give up...good luck!
My odometer just turned 65k, and when I took my 03 in and asked them about the peely calipers and rear spoler, they just looked at me and laughed. The service advisor looked at my spoiler and "supposedly" saw tiny little "rock chips" where the clear had started fading/peeling off. I asked him if he was f****n joking!!???? It made no sense what he had told me, I made somewhat of a scene and took off. F*** Mitsubishis service. Its garbage. I love my car, but cant stand the Mitsu dealer. Anyway, got a buddy who works at a custom autobody/paint shop, and he repainted my calipers. Black, that is! They look sweet too. As for the rear wing, just sold it. I think it looks better w/o it..........
F**K!! Good luck finding someone to replace those brakes man. I'm in the same situation but since I'm stationed overseas with my car I can't do a damn thing. I'm thinking about getting STOPTECHs (Zinc coating)...I just don't wanna fork out that money..no what I'm saying?

yeah, i had the same problem about my wing clear coat peeling and mitsubishi in LA helped me with that, should have it done in about a week, then the person helping told me about my calipers fading, and he said to call this number 1-888-648-7820 and tell them your situation.
