You do realize, of course, that Terminators get like 15 mpg max? Just a consideration if it's going to be your daily driver.

I know how you feel man, I have better reliability and "warranty" (aka the dealer covering things, even though I don't even have a warranty) on my 8-yr-old Porsche than I did on the Evo. Haha.

Of course you can do whatever you want with your car, im not saying you can't. What im saying is that don't be surprised that the tranny is giving you problems after your abuse the sheet outta it in a form of motorsports that this car was not designed to be competitive in. Then you come on here and ***** about it like its the car's fault. Please dood, just go buy the "me too", a set of Micky's and sell the Evo.

You're driving the wrong roads on the daily then lol. I'm kidding, I have country roads near where I live and I love running the corners fast, even though I have a POS Eclipse lol.

But it your choice, but I would rather save up and spend the money on a Shep tranny, cause from what I've heard they can handle alot and if you're gonna try and smoke Vetts, Cobras, and other V8s, you're gonna need a good tranny to handle the power.

just my .02 cents.

I did the same thing you're doing, i traded my evo for an STI because of tranny problems. i then wrecked the STI, bought a 240sx, sold the 240sx, bought a duramax, sold the duramax, and now i have bought another evo. For ome reason i really missed it. I will agree that to 03+ cobras are nice.

Your choice.

I know I can go to Shep and get my tranny rebuilt. But I still have worries I will break my t-case.

I'm prob going to put my car back to stock than go to a Ford dealer and get a 03-04 Cobra. If they give me a even trade.

I want a freak of a car and to match the power of what pullied Cobra's make I will need a big turbo. Sure from the dig we can get them but it just BS that one bad/hard launch can F up our drive train.

Sorry about the long rant.

I still haven't made up my mind yet. It seems like I could still get talked out of trading the Evo.
dude with bolt ons cams and meth on the stock turbo you will be right there with pullied cobras

I think you might just be reading too much into it.....

if the only problem is with car is your trans, get the thing shipped out....... to shep and you won't have any problems any long, send the t-case while you are at it and just be done with it. bolt on whatever mods you have and enjoy the car....

im running 500 whp with the mods below and I can tell you that in my area, I have walked many 03-04 cobra....

There is only 1 that hangs with me......

spend the money on the trans and case and start loving life again.

Do you beat the **** out of your car?? Do you know how to drive??

Not trying to be a dick, but i have had two 5sp trannies (an VIII and a IX). I have launched them both alot and beat the hell out of my cars and havent had a problem.

Matter fact, my IX has 40K miles over 40 launches and its daily driven hard everyday. And its still on the stock clutch.

Somethings wrong and I dont think its the tranny.

How many miles are on your car???

hey freak where do you live at? because what you could do is look for a carmax in your area and see what they give you for your car and also look for a cobra on their website. they have no haggle prices so you dont have to worry about them ripping you off. if you are in the LA area hit me up and i could help you out with that

if you want to drag race get a cobra, theyre generally easier to mod up and are ideal for drag racing. yea awd cars have an advantage in drag racing, but awd makes every advantage in any kind of road racing or rally racing. Evos were meant to handle very well and be very controllable around a circuit, not just to gain alot of traction when you dump the clutch to go in a straight line.

If you want straight line performance then a Terminator is hard to pass up. Hell I was looking at them for awhile but decided to just purchase an RX7 shell and swap an LS1 in there. Don't listen to the people calling it a Rustang or needing a tribal tattoo same thing can be said about any car group out there(this guy is probably a ricer himself). With twin turbo's and bolt on's and on pump gas a Terminator will decimate an Evo, that is running Race gas and a big GT35R or 37R with all major bolt ons as well. Imagine putting Race Gas and going all out on that 4.6 liter 32Valve DOHC Iron Block Engine you will have a beast.
It takes alot less work to make a terminator fast, I say if you can get an even trade in do it.

They both have advantages.

But, for all the Evo's quirks, what other daily driven 400hp (modified of course, Im not delusional) car can you drive in the snow?

Sure as hell not a cobra! Ive driven a mustang in the snow...and it just wasnt.....oh God it just sucked!

But the Evo is a PITA to change clutches and drivetrain parts....

But idk, its really whats up to you. If it were me and if I had the money, Id possess
both!
