Thinking About Trading My IX For A Terminator
Meth and Tune...I dont think I could live without AWD again...I just love it. I have driven and worked on a 800WHP Turbo 03' Cobra. Its fun to drive but you can wreck that b!tch in a hurry. The Evos are rare...and the faces people make when you walk away from them is priceless. Im shooting for 550WHP with my Evo. A 550HP Evo will just about murder anything on the street. PS. A 550 WHP Cobra will have traction problems even from a roll (depending on speed). Plus if you get wheel hop you can break the IRS axels pretty quick.
It's was having grinding issues when it only had 16k miles on her. Thats the only thing that disappoints me with this car.
For the loss you would take trading in your car rather than selling it yourself you could repair/replace your tranny with that money- then if you are still not happy with it you could sell it on autotrader and buy something else
Yea I know but I'm still making payments on my car. So if anything the new dealer will pay off my loan and start a new one with the Cobra. Thats if I find a dealer that has a Cobra in my area.
you probably just need to adjust the pedal man, if the pedal is too low it will not disengage fully when you go to shift.
It is your car and your money and based on the comment about the only fun you can have on the street, I think you should dump the evo and buy a cobra. Even if you do upgrade the tranny and or the Tcase, if you are going to be dragging the car you will probably still have issues. Evo's were not built to be drag cars, they can be built into drag cars but..........

Daily driver= nothing beats a 4 door AWD car. All-season, roomy, can haul luggage and still giddyup. Slap some winter tyres and you're set in the winter.
Weekend only/summertime only= Terminator is a baddass choice, although its' space, and only-summertime practicality, forces me to say stick with the Evo.

I think its time to dump AWD and got with a properly built RWD car. But I'm 50/50 as of now.
Hey check your PM I've got a vid for you to watch.
i would just save some money up if i were you, and send your tranny out to get rebuilt by shep or buschur... when i get the cash, thats what i am going to do. and i agree with the comment about the awd being so versatile- snow, rain you name it
Fridoon, that RWD LS1 had a drag radial and rear end work, you had an over inflated all-season on a stock suspension IX...he'll hook, but what's the good when he sees a puddle? Straightline isn't the only consideration when thinking daily driver
. But in the end, of course, it's your car, your choice.

Only time will tell from where I'm at now.
i have first hand experience with the cobra lol my roomate has one only drove it once but i ride with him like everyday its running low 11. at 128 its got a icebox 2.5 inch exhaust and a smaller pully and a tune he drives with radials on and can break them lose so easy on the street bad news is he cant even drive up my bosses drive way gets about 7k outta his tires and has to drive a ranger in the winter he raced my buddies 8 and puts cars on it id say its all in what you want the clutch is stiff as **** to for a stock one rides bumpy to its a hole diffrent car then a evo tho i did go to uti in exton pa we left one day when it rained he let the clutch out wheel hop and bam time for the tow truck to take us home so dont think your tranny problem free and its heavy 3700 to 3300 the its got a nice 6spd tho

If you do start having piston problems (it happens sometimes) it can get expensive. New shortblock, freshened up 6spd, level 5 axles w/twin clutch, brace, etc etc. it adds up. Then you run into what tire to run? Big DR's for traction or good handling tires with spin city?
Good luck and you can't go wrong with either choice you can PM me with specific questions.
