i dont understand the point of this article....

it talks about the guy running open exhaust to fool the police and how he speeds past cars on the expressway in traffic...i feel this is just giving us Evo guys a worse reputation. thanks new york times

 

You can get one on EBAY cheap. Get it welded in at a shop that you payoff

 

I got pulled over once by campus police because my cutout was open. I closed it up in a hurry and when he came up to the car and asked if it was me who was making all that noise I simply started the car up and asked him if he was sure it was me. The look on his face was priceless! But in other news, an exhaust cutout would not give 8+ lengths in a race. Nowhere even close. Maybe a length or two a bit more if your catted or stock exhaust but even on my 50 trim it's useless except for a bit of spool and noise.

 

I never understand what these people are trying to do when bragging like this in newspapers or news shows. All it does is make everyone else look bad and increase the heat by the police. Some idiot bragging about street racing on the Minneapolis news is what pretty much shut down the racing scene around here many years back.

 

Irresponsible reporting that will only further the import performance car profiling by the police. Also might encourage breaking the strict emissions laws in NY.

 

Oh great, Now I have to worry when I drive to the city everyday to go to work.... Thanks to this numbnutz. But whatever, at least I drive my car proudly with the Buschur TBE w/ bullet muffler!!!!

i like how if u listen to the picture slideshow with him talking, he talks about racing kids in their daddy beamer. this guy is a goon. he says he likes when the turbo whines too...i thought that was superchargers that did that

I think the only reason he got an article in the paper was because of the "exhaust cutout." Maybe for cops to notice, I don't know. What I do know is that his evo is complete crap compared to 90% of the evo's on this website. He also sounds like an idiot when he is talking on that slide show. Sorry you guys had to see this but I couldn't believe that it made it into the NY Times.

haha I actually met that guy few times on BK Evo meets.. Cool dude, but why brag like that in the press about cut-outs ? I wonder how long will it take for some politician who wants to put his name in the news, to start proposing stricter laws against exhaust mods ??

I don't remember if the thread was on evom.net or evo-ny.com, but there was a NYTimes journalist recently looking for an Evo owner to write a story about. I guess he found 1.
