Issues Of Our Evo
List type of EVO, WHP, miles, type of driving and what has broken since u bought the car....Okay i'll start:
05 VIII
320 WHP on dynojet
22000+ miles
daily driver, 3 road course events, 0 drags and some canyon road fun.
transfer case whine, LICP came off, SES light on, rear wiper blabe torn(never used it).....

16700 miles
iam also daily driver, and no dragstrip races, just occasional redlining and "roll on situation" problem 3rd gear synchro. plus shift fork broke but was fixed under my warranty!

I think there's a few threads like this, but it might just be motorsports themed.
My 2 Evo's have treated me great. I'm very good on maintenance and everything which I'm sure doesn't hurt. Besides some T-clamps or something coming off after a mod I did; everything's been good.

Btw, you should probably separate out the non-street driven Evo's!
My 2 Evo's have treated me great. I'm very good on maintenance and everything which I'm sure doesn't hurt. Besides some T-clamps or something coming off after a mod I did; everything's been good.

03 Apex Silver Evo 8 GSR
WHP: Last dyno- 318
50,000 (plus or minus 15miles)
Useage: the larges useless fing paper weight known to man. Secondary use as a black hole for all spare money.
The begining issues:
Bought with blown headgasket; found melted head. got running- found bad clutch (absolutly no movement or engagement of trans) fixed that, found bad input shaft bearings. Rebuilt trans.
Dyno'ed- developed bad boosting issues on dyno (couldnt get 23psi, either 18 or 25+) also developed starting issues. Found massive cylinder leak down- rebuild head due to bent valves.
The current issues:
Finially got running- 4 days later spun rod bearing. Been sitting under car port with a car cover ever since. (6 or more months now)
Awaiting stroker and GT30/35 turbo. What a way to waste way too much money.
