$ Value of 8-9 after X release
hmm well just according to everything i've read the x is bigger slower and less responsive overall not to mention will be more difficult to mod
here some reason that i dont understand why people do what they do
1) Fix up and dump a sh*t load of money into your Evo then selling it
2) Buying an MR Evo then sell the bbs rims to get volks or any other brand...then look for the bbs rims when selling the MR Evo
3) Buying leater seats in an EVO
, why not get an M3 or an AMG if this is the case
It's only slower in a straight line, which can EASILY be made up for. The thing pulled a .99 on the skid pad. That's SICK. When was the last time a stock IX did that? That's WITH the extra weight and size. Shouldn't be that hard to drop some of the weight with the extra crap that's not needed.

I just created this file in excel, give it a try. Also try changing the year to a higher one, like 50 years from now. Let me know how you guys like it.

are we forgetting the EASIEST AND MOST PROVEN EXAMPLE???
Look at the Evo VI
Evo VII
THOSE cars are rare, drooled over, and WICKED connected to the road compared to OURS. It serves well in a niche market where collectors/racers want those cars.
If your VIII and/or IX are kept up well, they can be sold at the CURRENT KBB (around 20-25k) for the VIII/IX.
The X is being mass-produced so Mitsu can get out of losses, so exclusivity will go down, the auto addition will expand market share, and the hard core enthusiasts will eventually look to the used VIII/IX market. . .
Just don't crash your VIII/IX and attempt not to mod it!

Regarding the price, it will continue going down. Look how cheap some nice stock 06 MRs are already! If you are concerned about depreciation, don't mod your car and keep good care of it. The rarest evo's to find are those with low miles and no mods. Those are the ones that will hold their value better.

thats me
Well from personal experience I think that the SE and RS may hold value somewhat due to the limited quantities. I personally bought a used 2000 civic si with a value of around 15k when I bought it in 2001. Having it stolen this past summer 21st century based the value on avg sale for my modey with 90k miles and I ended up with a check around 13,700.....I basically rented a civic si for 1300 for the past 6-7yrs. lol
just my 2...but who really knows
