$ Value of 8-9 after X release

My idea is the used EVO 8-9 prices will increase because of the EVO X's performance compared to the 8-9.
why would you get the X when for cheaper you can get the 8-9 EVO with better performance and easy to mod.

what do you guys think about this?

It will be the new car on the block and people will trade in their current Evo's just to have the latest and greatest. This should make the price of the current evo drop. The tests I've seen on the road course had the X running faster than the Evo IX.

Wow, so you can tell the future? The X out-performs the IX in anything other than the quarter.

How do you know how it's gonna take to mods? You know something the rest of the Evo tuning world doesn't?

I voted this thread is bull****, because it is.

Regarding the price, it will continue going down. Look how cheap some nice stock 06 MRs are already! If you are concerned about depreciation, don't mod your car and keep good care of it. The rarest evo's to find are those with low miles and no mods. Those are the ones that will hold their value better.

I believe the evo 8-9 will depreciate but then rise up in the future just like E30 m3 still sell for 10-16k depending on condition.

if anybody would take into account the fact that the Evo X will have an aluminum block, they would know that the evo X will physically not be able to take up to 1400 HP as some 4g63's have seen. theres no way the 4b11 will be able to withstand the insane amount of beatings the 4g63 is able to take. I think the price will stay the same for current evos, but depending what the people want when purchasing a X, the price might increase because of all the people who would want to mod it and end up disappointed with a busted motor. as for handling, the X is outstanding and handles better than current evo's. personally, i think the evo X will be somewhat of a disappointment to its owners who want a faster car.

My prediction is that whether stock or slightly modded....relatively low miles....in like 10-15 years the 8/9 will be deemed a collectors item.

considering that maybe only 15K or so VIII's came to the US and only 9K or so IX's came....factoring out how many are wrecked and will be wrecked I bet these cars will turn out to hold value okay.

How cool will it be to have an original evo before it went mainstream in 15-20 years when cars then may not even use regular gas anymore.....who knows what cars will be like then.....my plan is never to get rid of mine if I can help it....hopefully within the next year or so to even be able to garage it for most of its future existence under my ownership
