you can loose weight, take out the spare tire and jack, add a minibattery, get coilovers, and lighter rims. There are so many weight savings, do a search.

very nice

i've got the minimum bodyweight (can't lose anymore o'wise will black out while driving), i've got one of the lightest 18" wheels, will add a mini battery soon...
the evo 9 comes without spare tire, so u can't take it off

wt abt the coilovers?? do u think they'll save weight compared to the standard bilistein or KYB ??? how much??

No i meant the spare tire in your trunk under the trunk cover. I saved over 30lbs going to Megan track coilovers.

Exhaust and intake is a simple way to lighten the car and pull power at the same time but i never believed in gutting so dont take out your seats lol mitsu put to much time into the car for it to be torn up

I have been taking my car apart, you will save some weight gutting, but really pretty much everything is lightweight.. carpet, seats, etc. I haven't come across anything on the car that made me say WTF, this thing is heavy...

I've got a spare in my trunk ... not sure why you do not. Maybe one of those odd trim levels you guys get.

Sometimes, for specific events, I'll remove the glovebox and ash tray. They don't weigh much on their own, but if you keep stuff in there it could add up to a couple of lbs. I keep change in my ash tray and the manual and such in the glovebox. They are both easy to remove, but I put them back afterward. Neither is anything substantial.

Also, lighter 2-piece rotors will make a big difference becasue it's rotational mass. Check the weight of your tires as well as the wheels. The tires are further from the hub and will affect performance more than te same weight difference in a wheel or rotor.

The rear seat as well, the wing (even though its useful). Carbon hood's and trunks, doors (expensive), if you yank the carpet there is sound deadening, then there is the BIG PITA.

There was a coating on the bottom of my car, kinda like tar that picks up rocks and crap....I dont know how much that weighs....

Of course the intercooler, piping, aluminum clamps, a lighter TBE (titanium stuff is pricey as hell...no, downright crazy expensive! but very light)

The list goes on and on......most of the stuff I've suggested is race car friendly.

If you don't mind hearing vibrations, noise and overall nastiness, as well as the car being cold and unbearable, great.

If you need some sort of creature comfort, the sound deadening IMHO isn't an option.

whoang40, i know u meant the spare tire under the cover in the trunk, i don't have it maybe this is one of the differences between the american and european specs evo...

well i was more hoping to get some website where i could find some cf parts, like hood trunk roof etc...

can't mess with the brakes, although u can save upto 15kg with front brakes and 10kg with the rear.
