ACD Lights when cold....

as it is now getting colder up here and I don;t drive my car that much.. I have noticed that when I start my car in the morning all three ACD lights come on and stay on until the car warms up... which can take like 10-15 mins or more... I haven't been driving the car as I am not sure what it means.. I have searched on here but no one seems to have a similar issue..

Please

Thanks!

3 lights means the ACD is running in open mode - so the front and rear axles are not locked.

ACD sticky:

Ah - so now others with 05s have having ACD issues. Your not alone, my ACD usually is in the 3 light mode. Dealer couldnt figure it out either - pump works then turns off. They offered to change the pump at a tune of $2100 (for just the pump).

The way the ACD works - basically soon as there is steering input it goes to open mode. Its more for stability - but coming from cars without ABS or power brakes you learn quicky how to keep a car straight when hard on the brakes. And well for me in AXing or track days, I never noticed a difference of when the ACD was there and when its not there. And since I dont drive in the snow anymore and smart in the rain - its just dead weight.

Mine did this once (while driving home from buying it), but I just had to turn off the car and restart it. Hasn't happened since...knock on wood!

The IX owners manual states that all 3 lights will illuminate in cold weather but the system will operate normally once the ambient temperature rises. Sounds like what you are seeing is normal and nothing to be overly concerned about..
