evos are too damn heaver and have no TQ!!
ur not really burning the clutch if your feathering abit more then usual. if ur on a steep hill, feather smoothly until you get beyond 1500 rpm... its NOT burning as you dont have enough torque or RPMS to up the temps in that short time.
not trying to be an *** but u do need to learn to practice precise control of ur clutch. smooth timing (delayed) on steep hills and even san francisco level hills will be conquered.
and if u respond with (i've been driving for X amount of years blah blah), just means u've been driving for X amount of years "possibly" incorrectly. i was the same, i drove civics, 350zs etc and i never cared until the evo.

Yeah, I was trying to get up the hill at University of Maryland on my new clutch and I stalled at least 7 times because I could not get enough power to get moving. Then again I had a four-puck and those are pretty hard to engage, I probably would've been fine with the stock clutch.
I had all sorts of traffic honking me from behind and had to literally tell everyone to back up so I could roll down the hill to the flat spot. Probably one of the most embarrassing times of my life. That and the fact that I had to slip the clutch so much that it made me feel really bad, and it also didn't help that it was during my 500 mile break in.

of course you will be fine with a running start. with out one on steap hill your preatty much out of luck with the evo on steep hills.
i meant you cant go under 10mph. if you go slower than that the car has no power to accelerate and will start slowing down. then to get started again from a stop is no fun.
just power off idle at all
