all that and being on a real super steap hill and your fu*cked.

if the car is going 5-7mph already in first gear and cant even accelerate and is loosing speed because of the hill. how the hell are u supose to take off from a stop with out murdering the clutch
Most everyone is missing the real issue (one other addressed the true root cause )....Your issue is caused by the fact that you have a larger turbo on the Evo...If you were using the factory turbo you would not have this issue....The lag on a 30r or power below 3K is awful compared to a 9 or FP Green...

WRC restricts the evo to 2 liters.

It was built and designed for Rally racing and kick the snot off Subaru, Peugeot, Fiat, and Ford...not to go up SF hills through traffic.

Thats what happens when you have a turbo car with "low" compression. your not gonna go anywhere without help from the turbo.

hmmmm sorry bro.. u started complaning u have no TQ at low rpm s,, duhhhhh u got a GT 30 & cams .. do u really think ur gonna have big TQ below 3000 rpm ???.. soo stop complaining ab a great car.. if u want to go up hill at 5-7 mph get a turbo thats smaller than a 16g so ull have enough boost at 1000rpm to go at the slowest speed u want up hill or put the stock turbo back on n tune it wit antilag...

You are right, certain hills I just have trouble with. I try to avoid them at all costs.

Well the WRC isn't in the US, so we can have a bigger motor. See the STI.

the hill was so steep that I could notgo slower than 10mph. as soon as i wnt slower to about 5mph the car just did not have any power or tq to accelerate to its power band. then when i come to a complete stop, its almost impossible to get going again cuz of the huge hell and tiny engine. the only way to get moving again was to slip and burn the hell out of the clutch untill you were up to 10mph. that one hill made the car stink of burn clutch for days.

the evo is just a DOG before 1500 rpm
anyone else have problems with huge hills?
So you're driving a low compression, turbocharged, 2.0l, 3200lb car and you want to be able to climb steep hills at 5-10 MPH while idling? Dude, you are retarded. Sell your Evo and buy a diesel truck.

duh! you can't compare evo to V8 muscle. at 1500 rpm of course V8 will have more low end torque than evo. if you have to drive a very steep hill, put in first gear, i drove on steep hills b4, man, turbo loves hill. if you are driving in 2nd gear at 1500rpm, of course its sluggish.
