looking for some ideas...
Alright guys, Needs some ideas. I will be getting my re-enlistment bonus here soon (maybe) and I have been looking at my finances. When all is said and done, I am leaving myself about $5k to work with towards my car. I'm not really worried about the aesthetic side of things at this point. I dont want rims or anything like that. Some of thie things that are at the top of my list that I have not gotten yet are a V1, upgrade the stereo, FINALLY get some gauges...but I want power. I am leaning towards a 35R set-up from more than likely Buschur, with an ETS intercooler w.piping & intake, and without getting into details, all the supporting mods. I dont really have anything on her as she sits, just little things (everything I have is in my sig). What do you guys think? As far as aesthetics, which I said im not too worried about, I want to keep it as stock as possible. That being said, I think I want to try the Cobb exhaust, a front lip, some VII tails, EVODAVE all black headlamps, and a vortex generator...thats pretty much it on the exterior of the car. interior, I am wanting to get the stock leather interior (VERY badly) and some stewart warner gauges. I figured this was the best place to get some help and ideas...so flame away or whatever you guys want...im open to all opinions, just looking to keep it in the $5-$6k range
Thanks in advance and semper fi

check out amsperformance.com and see what you can fit in 5k. also depends on your performance goals. drag, autox, etc. Also off topic I am going to USMC boot camp in March ( noticed semper fi )
well, performance goals....id be happy with 400whp, but you always want more, thats why im thinking 35r. Im not "building" it for any specific purpose at all, and once I get the motor and turbo where I want it, I will be hitting up the suspension aspect of things.
As far as the marines, what are you enlisting for? I love it, and its one of the best decisions I have made in life, im sure you will feel the same way, although it isnt for everyone. If you are going infantry, make sure you look into the 6 yr enlistment, and the hefty bonus that comes along with it...hehe...your car will be anything and everything you want, lets put it that way

You don't need a 35R to make that power. I would keep it simple. If your planning on racing I'd go with the 35R, but you can get so much more for the money your about to drop. More, meaning mods. Do you plan on building the engine (i.e. pistons rods). With the 35R, you might want to just to be on the safe side. To maximze your spending I would go a different route. That's just my .02
i personally love the characteristics of a stroker and the quick response but to each his own. With the Marines I'm open to anything and would appreciate any/every bit of info and advise. I work for a telecommunication co here so I thought maybe something in that catergory but Im the kinda guy who wants to go all out and have talked to my recruiter about recon. I take it your infantry? what kinda hefty bonus we talking? 400 could be had with all bolt ons good tune and fp green or 20g correct me if im wrong.
I dunno, Im just trying to make the best decision. Im not going to be going on the route of a stroker, at least not for a good amount of time. I dont wanna go past modding the head at this point, and want to hook-up a turbo that's going to give me what I am looking for now, with-out being maxxed out. I pretty much have my mind made up and know everything I am getting with the exception of the turbo itself...Im also not trying to make any decisions right now, trying to get the ball rolling though. I will probably start piecing things together from here and there, but wont do any kind of install of anything until I have everything.

hey man... we are working on building turbo setups it seems lol. We basically pieced mine together and we are working on 3 more as we speak right now all under your price range. Let me know what you want to do, and ill tell you about how much you are looking at. Also, if you need it installed we can work that out as well.....
what you really need is a ride in my car

AMS does do good work butI'm all about helping out the local fellas. Jason won't do you wrong. Plus those guys know what their doing. If I weren't satisfied with my current set up, I'd let them build me a set up.
