Insurance question

Going back to states soon and I need to get insurance.
I tried USAA but price is too expensive
26 male no accident/ticket for life and price still came out to be $250/month
$250 is 50% of my car payment
Am I doing something wrong or any cheap recommanded companies?

You will almost never get a better price than through USAA. About all you can do is increase your deductibles and lower the liability coverages.

I would check with progressive. I don't have an evo yet but I do currently have progressive because they were the cheapest when I was shopping for ins.

I was in the same situation as you. I did a comparation with USAA and Porgressive when I came back to the states. Before 24 years, Progressive was $200 bucks cheaper at $1,100 to $1,300 for 6 month. I went with USAA because they finance my car, and at the time they told me when I turn 25 it should drop a lot. After 25 years, USAA went up to $1,386 for 6 month. I call them up and they told me that $1,386 is also including the 25 years discount, the high premium was due to high claims in the state. So I went to get a quote with Progressive and Geiko and Progressive was $490 and Geiko was $560 for 6 month with the same deductible and coverage. That is almost a grand cheaper than USAA. As much as I like USAA, for car insurance, I'm switching over to Progressive at the end of the month.
