I actually ran into one of the "Red Neck" type of muscle car guys. Man he was a douche. I was filling up and he rolled up in a nice deck out Chevelle SS. This was beautiful car. I was giving him props. and he says no bs " Nice evo...for lunch" I honestly wanted to give him **** for how horrible that comment was. I love muscle cars and tuner, and exotics. If its fast I give props. No reason to hate the car. only reason the car is hated cause of arrogant douche bags. But i also ran into vettes, goats, bmw, and so on all i get is respect. Thumbs up we talk and bs. It all depends on the person I guess. Hopefully I don't run into your luck and get keyed. Thats just ****ed up to mess with someones car period!
look at the bright side:
1) nicer people live longer (open minded + no stress).
2) any "man" driving a minivan is angry at every other guy on the road bcuz he made bad choices in life & since misery loves company they want you to be depressed like they are. if u drove a Kia Rio they would still flip u off!!
3) anyone stupid enuff to rev you will eventually find someone to run them in which they will crash their 400hp civic w/stock rear drum brakes & die. we call that "Natural Selection".
4) u need those haters to actually measure the amount of success u have attained for u & your family.
5) REAL muscle car guys respect all performance cars. fake muscle car guys can't figure out why their car sounds mean but runs 16's...

Dude lemme say there are alot of haters out there, but once u meet ppl in the evo community u will see the great side of owning an evo.
i myself am only 18 years old, but i have 2 or 3 friends that are over 30 with evos! great guys for sure, and everyone gets along at evo meets (older n younger guys) because everyone just loves evos!

I do have some hater..
but I love to been myself 100% Deaf..
I cant hear Rev from Honda or haters..
Cops cant do anything with my loud exhaust, or something..
i get alot thumb up..

Well that sounds like a good, even though a sad explanation.
How can people just be that prejudice. Also I am not the only Evo around here.
Quiet a few in my area also 2 with exactly the same car as mine. Maybe they mess
things up. One of em a very young kid. Did not see him anymore in the last weeks also his car is not parked where it was. Hope nothing happened to him.

still try to race you..bottom line people envy things they dont have which is why there are so many evo haters.

Hello everyone
In January it will be one year that I am a very happy owner of a 2006 Evo 9 SE.
It is (for me) the best car I ever drove in my life. It is stock and will stay stock. I am now almost 31 years old and not single anymore so any money I had to spend on the car is just plain and simple going into things we need for our living expenses like new furniture, TV, bed, matress,... we just got for a new apartment. I also have to say that I never experienced a situation where I would have missed additional speed or power. For me the car is fast enough as it is. It is just a daily driver to work. I do not do track days and things like that. ( I wish I could
).
Now. (Sorry for that long introduction but it is just my second post). The reason I write is the strange behavior I see in other drivers since I got the car.
First, after a few days of owning it both front doors were scratched by someone with a key. Who does that? Since then many people just act like *******s. I am a nice driver, I do not cut anybody off and as often as I can I let other drivers cut in or out of driveways where they would be waiting forever.
I had people honking at me while passing them (at reasonable speeds), one driver (in a mini van) even went that far to open his window and give me the finger while passing him (and I was not tailgating him before that). Muscle car drivers give me thumbs down out of there windows, BMW drivers (mostly younger people in M3's) give me the finger head on in there windshield. What's going on? I am lost.
Then there are other things that are just funny like people revving their engines when they see me (even sports bikes) or trying to race at red lights. Well - this is all fun, but whats with the hate? Do you guys experience similar things on a daily basis? Do I have to be 18 to understand it and I am just getting too old? haha .

I got these group of teenagers pulled up next to me. The driver started reving his engine the first time. I look to them and they didn't look back. They reved again for the second time. They all started gigling like typical imature kids. One kid spoke up and said to the driver, "Man you're stupid (giggling)." Then turn to me and asked. "Is that a Lancer or an EVO?" So I asked him back, "What do you think?" That was when the laughter stopped. Guy's turn his face back and shuts up. I just hated the way people reacted towards my car when they don't know for sure what it really is.

I completely agree with you. I don't get much hate in central jersey *fingers crossed* but I agree with you 100%. Usually when someone pulls up next to me and starts revving, its soooooooo hard not to just pull from 0-30mph. AHH THE temptation but seriously. I've had honda accord coupes the old school ones pull up with the tinted windows and all and revving away inside their tints. I just shake my head and smile. I'll give him that one cuz he's probably in there with his high school girlfriend. I mean I dont know whats up with people these days, im only 22 and ive been into cars since i was 15 years old. My first car was a 99 honda prelude type sh (5th gen) Pearl white, that thing didnt touch rain snow nothing and I can remember sooo clearly I always respected 2 cars, the evo and the sti. When i saw it I always moved out of the way (on highway of course) and almost want to wave but like 80% of the time they fly by either thinking i want to race or shakes head. what can you do?? But in around my town, if i like the car and the clean look regardless of brand i do a

The only HATE I get is from the rednecks in their trucks. These ding-dang-do hill billies have no clue. I do get a lot of interest from everyone, people stare at the car all the time. Slowing down on the highway and leaning over to look, I just gas it to show off a little. I get tons of thumbs up from people in Jersesy! I don't understand this hate thing, if you have a nice car give props!
rednecks. yeah. They love my area...many of them here. But I am not that far from Jersey anyway. The other big group around here are "soccer moms" in their SUV's. They don't hate me though and many of them are pretty hot
.(I see you also own a 350Z. My friend that I work together with has a Nismo S-tune 350Z. Although it has some aftermarket parts it is never quick enough for him. Well it is a little bit slower than my stock Evo but I think next year he will go that far to install a turbo for 6k. Maybe he should go online too to get some advice but he barely touches his Computer

I get called up and the judge looks at the ticket and says, "Huh????" Gave the ticket to the dist. att. and the att. took the ticket to the cop and started mumbling something.
She comes back to me and asked the judge if she could talk to me outside. She said yes. I didn't mind, the judge was a milf and the att. was smokin'.
She tells me that neglegent driving is a serious offence and they were willing to take it down to just a hard rigth turn without stopping at a red light. I look at her sad say, "Sweety, I didn't do anything wrong. I still plead 'not guilty'."
I'm the last person in the courtroom for my case and the cop begins to tell his part of the story. All the time, I'm thinking to myself what a phucking dumbas* this guy is. He finished stumbbling over his words and its my turn.
Like a lawyer of my own, I start spitting out the nastiest courtroom game you'd ever seen. After I tell the milf judge the real story, she looks back at the cop and says there is no conclusive evidence to support what really happened, and dismissed my case.
PHUCH YEAH!!!!

Ha ha ha, happened to me just last night. I was leaving a nice healthy meal at Mc Donalds when some kid with his buddies and some girls in the back roll up on me at a red light; Driver says" You want to Race" I take one look and if I had been drinking soda, I would have shot it out my nose, I was laughing soo hard I couldnt hold back. He knew it was a joke of race to beging with so I just let that one go.. It was golden for me to hear his girl passengers (him and his buddies dates) clown on his car when they saw me burst out with laughter when he was trying to get me to race him. Then another tampon pulled up in a 350 Z and reved on me and tried to provoke me again. It gets old quick ,but just know it only happens cause the EVO has street Cred.
