By the way is a very nice looking car!

Nothing's wrong with the OEM spec evo....I'm just saying that it could have been the way you drive, you might have driven too fast then say before you own your evo around your block, work or anywhere that people may want to scratch your car just so you might realize you done somthing to someone or something some where.

I work for a german car company and am have been surrounded by haters every day for the past 4 years. But recently there has seemed to be a general change of oppinion. Back in the day people just seemed to shrug off my EVO as some kind of kit car. Know when talking shop......the evo gets respect. I credit all of you tri-staters for showing my co-workers the error of thier ways. Lord knows I can't roast all of them on my commute.

No negative reactions to my TB IX SE so far (9 months). I think most people don't know what kind of car it is. A kid asked me once if I drifted with it, and I've gotten nods and thumbs up - from STI drivers .

The only HATE I get is from the rednecks in their trucks. These ding-dang-do hill billies have no clue. I do get a lot of interest from everyone, people stare at the car all the time. Slowing down on the highway and leaning over to look, I just gas it to show off a little. I get tons of thumbs up from people in Jersesy! I don't understand this hate thing, if you have a nice car give props!

Might be the way your evo look or the way you drive your evo that **** them off and that cause them to hit/keyed/scratch your evo for getting even.

Try keeping your evo looking clean!! The comments and response might be more possitive. Here's mine.
Where I'm from, having an evo as clean as that gives them MORE of a reason to hate!

I remember when I bought my first Evo and had people revving me all the time. One particular idiot in a red Pontiac Grand Prix GTP would not leave me alone and was a constant annoyance and followed me for miles trying to get a race. It is wild how this car brings out the inner moron in some drivers.

The sad things, is that this really is one of the best all around performance cars you will find. Period. It is just too bad that the target demographic has given the car such a horrible reputation.

and this is why i'm moving on to the Evo X. Clean slate, no fckin idiot kids to tarnish the rep of the new design. most people won't even know it's an Evo, just a cool looking car.

Sir, you are not alone.

PS: Do a k&n drop-in air filter and a ecu flash and you'll gain 25-30whp AND get better gas mileage. If your gonna keep it stock I understand that completely, do those two things and you wont be dissapointed, and you'll thank me later....Really what more can you ask for. More power AND better mileage!

hmmm...thanks.
sounds very nice. I thought about the k&n drop in filter just because it is cheap and won't void the warranty. I know nothing about the ecu flash though. What is it and could my Mitsubishi dealer where I bought the car help me with it? and what is the cost of it? I guess I will also do a search on here.
thanks a lot

Well that sounds like a good, even though a sad explanation.
How can people just be that prejudice. Also I am not the only Evo around here.
Quiet a few in my area also 2 with exactly the same car as mine. Maybe they mess
things up. One of em a very young kid. Did not see him anymore in the last weeks also his car is not parked where it was. Hope nothing happened to him.

i wouldn't go to the dealer with this request..
get a K&N filter highflow cat and mail in flash . Of course if you want to stay as "stock" as it possible.
there is lots of tuners out there. go to some one is closer to you.

i would recommend :
Sean Ivey . http://www.iveytune.com/
or :
AMS, Turbotrix, Buschur, but lots of others out there.
thise guys are long time ago started, so they have a most experience, wich is always neccesery to get a safe tune.thumbup}

If you want to keep your warrenty, buy the Cobb AccessPort. All you have to do is plug it in and you can flash your car with different maps and gain a lot of horsepower and milage, and when you take your car in for service, just flash the ecu back to stock.

They'll never find out.
