Dang. That sucks that you guys get such negative attention. On the other hand, when I see an evo I rev at it just to hear their engine and the pssst. then i give em a thumbs up, a nod, or a "love your car." soo maybe sumtimes when they rev at you they just wanna hear you rev back? 
Honestly, I'm at the point where I really want as*holes in civics to come up next to me and try to race...or any car for that matter. I thought i'd be getting attention out the *** when I bought my Evo, but most people I talk to have no idea what it is. When they see it they ask me, "Is that a Subaru?" I just tell them yes, because i get so tired of having to explain "l-a-n-c-e-r e-v-o-l-u-t-i-o-n" to them and then have them barely be able to pronounce the word "Mitsubishi." People are so dumb. The boredom from driving around ignorant geriatrics and soccer moms in Pittsburgh all day makes me beg for the ricer that actually recognizes that I have a performance car and wants to race.

When people in their Rustangs or Hondus rev at me, they get this. 
A blank stare, and a big, sloooow thumbs down. You guys should try it, the look on their faces is worth it! 
Though I did have two ten year old-ish boys have their mom take their picture with my Evo at a restaurant. I told my wife to look, and she was completely amazed. It was awesome.

Hasn't happened that much at all in vegas to me. I guess fools got the memo here that they would get owned.
Most of the time people tell me they saw the legendary top gear evo-lambo vid. I dont even bother anymore to elaborate that its a totally different car here in the states. Im sick of explaining the same thing over, and over again so I just go along with it now.

I'm 37, I drive a 12 sec Evo IX that gets about 26mpg on the high-way.
I also deal with all the muscle car guys, Honda boys, BMW kids, and other assorted ricers.
I get them all the same way on the way home from work. String them along with the hope of a race, till you get close to a known speed trap, then set them up with the old rev-up, and let them take off like a Bat Out Of HELL pass the cop and enjoy the show.

man, thats crazy about the type of reactions. i just cant wait to get my degree and grab an evo. but right now, i got love for evos, when ppls ask me if my car is an evo, i say no its the little brother, cuz i dont wanna disgrace the evo name.
Same hate in Chicago. I randomly get yelled at, cut off, flipped the bird, and laughed at when driving the evo...

BTW. I'm 26, don't race, curtious driver, etc...
O, and I work in the financial industry where most people drive 7 series BMWs, Benzs, etc. so don't get me started on that.
