I guess I live in a good area, people either know what the evo is and respect it or they don't know what it is and ignore it. I had one mustang yell "vroom vroom" at me as I passed him on a frontage road... I've had a couple fly bys and people trying to race me. I try and look at this from their perspective, how many chances do they get to run an evo? So I usually run a bit to give them a good story, nothing too illegal lol.
Oh, and I get honked at occasionally, I don't know wtf it means so I ignore it.

 

Remove the wing. You'll be shocked at how people act after that.

I don't get these kinds of problems over here as they are always behind me in my rear view mirror!

 

Tha fact of the matter is we share this rock we live on with more than 6.6 billion people(thanks Wikipedia). Unfortunately, that is a whole hell of a lot of uneducated, ignorant, and just plain stupid people that make up a lot of the population and on a smaller level, the haters on the road.

 

i just keep my eyes on the road when i drive...i don't look at people....i haven't had any problems....i'm 32...lol...plus i'm like the only evo around so people don't even know what it is most of the time...they probably think it's a regular lancer that has been riced out...who knows?

 

I am stock and wingless and I have had no problems (knocks on wood). I have had heard a couple of people say to their friends "hey, that's an Evo", had one guy ask if the brakes were stock and another ask if it was a WRX, but other than that no one seems to notice.

Heck, someone even took the time to key my Mazda3 even though the Evo was parked right next to it! Go figure.

It's good to know I am not alone out there with my observations and yes I
should just try to ignore it but it just bugs me. I don't even react angry when
anything like that happens, I don't race anyone or honk back or give the finger back. I just wonder why but yeah like you all said people are morons and very prejudice especially with this car. I never judge anyone by what they are driving so I guess that's why I can't understand any negative reactions.

Hmmm, there seems to be a lot of haters on the East coast. I have had two evo's and get nothing except a nod or a thumbs up every now and then. But I have never gotten any haters.

 

lemme guess...you have the wing on?

try taking it off and see if you notice any difference.

 

I got the opposite, people in my town actually respect me evo....
Might be the way your evo look or the way you drive your evo that **** them off and that cause them to hit/keyed/scratch your evo for getting even.


Try keeping your evo looking clean!! The comments and response might be more possitive. Here's mine.

well whats wrong with the factory looking one? If somebody ignorant they will key yours too, in the parking lot. They dont know how you drive, maybe that is the first time they see your car. They just pissed some reason and they waant doing something bad with an evo.

By the way is a very nice looking car!
