Extreme Damage caused by Loose Meth Line.

Was Cruising home Monday and punched it With the Meth Activated. Ran Through 2nd-4th and noticed my "Lean Condition" alarm comming on at the top of 3rd and 4th. Backed off the gas and smelt "burning rubber." Didnt think much of it at the time. I was about 5 miles from home.

As I was getting closer to home I peered down at the Apexi TT and noticed the voltage being read at under 12 volts. More precisely 11.7-11,9 Volts. I knew something was up. Bad Alternator?Who knew

Got home opened the hood and saw this:

The Meth line had popped out of the fitting. This is not the first time it has happened. For the most part I can't tell what really happened, a Short from the meth hitting the Postive terminal caused a small fire. Bare in mind this is a 100PSI pump and would have been spraying a **** load of methCar Ran fine with no CEL's or misfires or anything out of the ordinary except for low voltage.

Judging by the pictures the wires look in tact and not exposed. Some clips like the one located near the Throttle body look deformed due to high heat.

I am gonna try to salvage the harness in hopes of not having to replace it due to extremely high cost and PITA installation. More than likely the alternator is fried. and will have to replace that.

When i begin to pull off the plastic tubing I will know the full extent of damage.

Just keep this in mind, running METH or ALKY Injection does offer more issues than just a failing pump or bad tune.

I have a complete engine harness if you need. There are actually 3 parts of engine harness under the hood, i think this one is actually the easiest one to replace. This one goes directly to computer. Mine is off 03 Evo, let me know if you interested and how much you willing to pay for it. Shot me a PM

I would imagine that 50/50 mix would be much safer.

Not a meth expert but,

50/50 is much safer and there are benefits of the water not had with the meth alone. If your goal is mainly octane effect then OK. But, the risks are higher straight (obviously...)

What do you think lit the meth?

Was the leak from the missing hose on the first pic?

BTW, there should be no sparks from a battery and engine heat is minimal. Poss alt or ex?

wah! That sux... The teeth are not gripping properly on your nozzle holder...where'd you get it from?

This is a 100%meth issue ...those who run 50/50 need not worry about fires from the meth. The distilled water makes the meth non volatile.
