difference between 03/04 EVO VIII
I'm sorry, if you mean that only the SSL package included HID, you are wrong. If I am misunderstanding you, sorry. But, 03-04-05 standard & MR models all had HID as standard. All model year RSs didn't. 06, HIDs were not standard except for the MR model. Some came with HID and some didn't.
first time i saw the leather seats....i almost threw up..j/k. it doesnt match in a rally-bred car. leather? if leather, should have at least had heated leather seats.

03 - one version only. 5spd, intercooler sprayer, 16g6 9.8th turbo, no helical lsd, no acd
bby, red, yellow, silver, black
04 - same as 03 except RS version is released with helical lsd
RS- only red and white - no power windows, no a/c, no radio, aluminum roof, helical lsd, no wing, no abs, no acd
note: not sure when the SSL package was introduced. for some reason, i believe it was 04, but correct me if i am wrong. i know it definitely was not in 03 though.
05 - 3 versions: MR, RS, standard...all versions come with 16g6 10.5cm^2 th and helical lsd, ACD. no yellow color, no bby color, new electric blue color comes out, new graphite gray color comes out. no intercooler sprayer from this year out.
RS- same as 04 with exception of turbo, lsd, and the new acd
MR - 6spd, gauges factory installed (not optional like standard and RS), bilstien suspension, bbs wheels, aluminum roof (RS and MR has no sunroof option), black vortex generator, acd, helical lsd
standard - same as 03/04 with exception of turbo, lsd, and the new acd
06 - mivec engine 16g6 10.5th w/upgrade compressor housing and wheel. new body styling (front bumper, undertray, badging..lights..etc)
MR - same as 05 with exception of mivec, turbo, and has colored vortex generators
RS - same as same as 05 with exception of mivec, turbo, and a different tranny
standard - same as same as 05 with exception of mivec, turbo, and a different tranny

just to add...03 did have white as a color. 05' had yellow as a color also. HID's standard on 03/04 and all MR packages. 05+ needed to have purchased SSL to get HID's. 06' different ECU with more maps. 03-05 Wings have the deck carbon fiber. 06 evo's have it all painted.

anyway 03-05 are identical. nothing difference. ACD was introduce on 05 evos and up, Also 10.5T hotside. the SSL package introduce in on 05 as well and this is the only package that include HID. There is my little bit of info to help some of the confused out...
05 MRs vortex generator and wing are a dark Grey not black or body color. mitsu said they did this to match the BBS wheels. it is a Grey that is darker than they GG but not quite black.

i believe the interiors were also changed a bit. i think 05-06 evos have 1.5 cup holders while 03-04 evos has 2 full cupholders. what i mean is one cupholder has less depth than the other one.
also, 05-06 has the fog light switch where the dimmer switch is by on 03-04 models. the acd switch is where the fog light switch would have been on 03-04 models.
the "lock, unlock" buttons are also slighty bigger in 05-06 models compared to 03-04.
06 evos have a carbon fiber dash trim.
06 evos have different interior seats
05-06 evos have a softer clutch pedal feel
06 evos have red recaro stitching

now, for sure '04 rs's did not come with a/c as standard..as for 05-06 rs's, i do not know if a/c was standard.

here's and evo with a/c..as you can see, there is no a/c line on the RS.

i remember taking a look at the new RS in '04 only a month after i got my brand new '03...(4 months before the MR came out...i should have waited)
there was no a/c because i remember there wasnt even an a/c button
