also, 05-06 has the fog light switch where the dimmer switch is by on 03-04 models. the acd switch is where the fog light switch would have been on 03-04 models.

the "lock, unlock" buttons are also slighty bigger in 05-06 models compared to 03-04.

06 evos have a carbon fiber dash trim.

06 evos have different interior seats

05-06 evos have a softer clutch pedal feel

06 evos have red recaro stitching
Actually....the only switch moved is the foglight switch. The foglight switch is down by the headlight adjuster on the HID equiped cars. The ACD button is in the place of the fog light switch.

The lock and unlock buttons are the same size, its just the 06's don't have the litle orange sticker showing it being locked or unlocked. I've had a 03 and have a 06' and thats the only difference.

03-05 had the blue Recaro's

06' had the black Recaro's

The clutch in my 06' feels just like my 03' when it was stock

The only 06' Evo wtih red stitching in the seats are the SE models. Your some what right, but you need to be more specific.

I bought my first Evo in May of 03' and was on this forum before that so I've done alot of reading and research.

Besides rom version differences on 03/04 models.. I did notice a few trivial wiring harness differences between the two years. Other than that, The info posted is pretty accurate. I did notice my intake manifold was slightly different casting than an 04 manifold I picked up as a spare. I cannot recall if the HID Levelers that are on the 03, were also on the 04 though..

A/C might have been optional on the RS for 04, but I don't know of any production USDM 04 RS delivered without A/C

Most of what Evo X Owner-2-B said was off by a year - those changes happened in 05.

Didn't 04's have a a leather option? My buddy has an 04 and it has leather

Yes....04' was the ONLY year to have it as a single option not having ot buy a package like you do for the 05-06 models.

I work for Ford Motor Co. and you'd be surprised how many changes are made under the skin of vehicles every model year. Usually though, if they are significant changes the model year would be changed.

Like our Super Duty trucks. In 08' they started coming with the 6.4TT engine. There was some changes to the steering pumps and other options added. Those truck became 2008 1/2. We just started running the 2008 3/4 about 3 weeks ago.

As for the HID leveler, every Evo equiped with HID's the leveler has always been in the same spot no matter what year it was. My 06's leveler switch is in the same spot as my 03'.

Damn....that is one thing that I'm not sure of. I know my 03' had gloss trim and my 06' has the dull trim, but I'm 100% posotive which year that start in. Was it 04' or 05'? I know I remember seeing it on a 8 here locally, but I don't remember who owned it so I can't tell you the year.

I know that the 2004's were the first model to have the clear protective strip on the rear wheel wells since the 03's were prone to get rock chips and the paint getting knocked off.

Cool. I have an '03 EVO and my uncle has an '06 MR. Clutch pedal in my '03 was much, much heavier than the pedal feel in the '06. Trust me, if there wasn't a difference, I wouldn't be 100% sure of this. At least, there is a difference between my uncle's car and mine. My stock pedal feel wasn't even 50% as soft as the new ones. I did sit in an '05 MR when I still had my stock clutch in my '03...let me tell you, there was a very different clutch pedal feel.

About the door lock switches, comparing my '03 to my uncle's '06, there is a difference in size. His switches are noticably bigger.
Could this mean that Mitsu used whatever was available and didn't go with one size? You are saying that your '03 and your '06 had the same size buttons. Very wierd indeed.

I think they matte blacked the door frames in '05, except the black cars which are all gloss.
