project green evo

hey guys, i feel like im getting closer to getting my fp green turbo setup in my 05 evo. but before i am sure of everything and installing everything, i am wondering what people think of the setup, any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. so far i have fp green turbo w/ 18psi wastegate acturator, hks intake, invidia 02 housing, invidia dp, test pipe, evo2 catback, hks 272 camshafts, cosworth headstuds, ams fmic w/ upper and lower piping, ams 780cc injectors, ams small battery kit, boost controller, defi gauges (oil press, egt, boost), stock ecu custom tune. i was wondering if i should buy turbo manifold if it would be worth it, and if so what company. also what blowoff valve i should go w/? appreciate any comments thx

mods sound good. get a meth kit if you want the most out of the green. how much boost do you plan on running? if it's less than 25 psi i would go with the JDM IX Metal BOV.

I have had some feedback from evom members who feel that the $1700.00 is too much money for the HP gains that are typically seen with a green. With pump 93 gas, no meth, alky etc, gains are around 30whp. That seems like a lot of cash for 30 whp. Wouldn't it be better to save the $ and go to a bigger kit, Buschur has kits from $3K that would put a lot more power to the ground. Any opinions?

as far as the mani is concerned, most 20g guys have gone with the stock ported & polish with no compaints. the stock will hold up better than aftermarket and provide good flow with the p&p

I think the FP Green does not yield that much hp for an upgraded turbo and the price you pay for it, I have some friends that went with it and were pretty disappointed. I say if your set on getting it pick up a meth/alky kit.

It depends on what his overall goals are.

50 trim. Just MO.
If I was looking for a bigger snail, thats what I would get. I personally think the extra spool time is well worth it in the gains it returns. I wouldn't even waste my time with the green, unless you plan on running meth/alky.

i've read that it's only around $900 if you send your 8 turbo to them, but then your car will be down for a while.

get a good meth kit. i'm personally going with the Snow Performance Stage 2 kit. some people say the JDM IX Metal BOV will hold up to 30 psi. i'm gonna try to run 28 psi on my stock 9 bov and see if it holds.

If you add a meth inj kit you will achieve some very good numbers. You will aslo need a fuel pump, I don't think you have one listed on your mods. As for the BOV get the IX bov it will hold all the boost you want.

green is to much money, if u want bang for the buck just get a ix turbo with meth.

i seen ix turbos go on local forums for like 500 bucks.

if that isnt going to live up to your goals, just get a used 50trim-35r kit.

they are constantly going on the for sale threads for like 1800-2500.

i've already bought all the parts except for manifold, injectors and currently using 05 evo mr metal bov. so i guess im kinda stuck, but my goal was to have around 400whp and nothing higher because i do not want to strain my engine or my tranny. planning to keep them stock.
