i bet it doesn't get as cold in SA as it does here in NE ohio. Also, I'm not the only one who has had issues so to me, its not even worth messing with. It most cases its cheaper than doing a mini batteryx replacement, and its no more difficult than installing a stereo system.

I hear ya. I know that the region makes a big difference. I saw that you were in the NE and figured that's where most of the complaints are coming from.

i spent about 6 months (august-feb 2000-2001)in SA and i know it can get cold there, but i dont remember it being long stretches. And i would bet that most of the cases are people who live in cold places which is why i told him if he lives in a warm area he'd probably be ok. Although i do know of people around me that run it no problem. Hit and miss for whatever reasons.

i have 0/1 gauge military-grade cable running from the engine bay to the trunk for the positive side, and then 2 gauge running to a ground in the trunk, and just for kicks, i also ran an negitive cable to the engine bay to ground to the transmission and the drivers side strut tower, just to make sure its well grounded. kicks over strong every time

Yea....I already knew not to keep the car on accessory for any given period of time. The battery isn't meant for that. It's meant to crank--and that's it. Motorcycles and ATV's dont have a need to stay on accessory.
