No heat

I have my evo stored for the winter, but im curious to what might be causing my heater to not work, i dont wanna take it to the Mitsu. dealership cause it'll prolly cost an arm and a leg. It doesn't blow any warm air what so ever, just cold and it really sucks. So please help me out guys, thanks

Two possibilities: blend door in heater box is in the AC position - the early cars had issues with the levers on the heater box; thermostat stuck open.

Pop your head under the drivers side footwell, and look at the 2 cables to the big giant white airbox. Check which one moves when you turn the hot/cold knob, and unsnap that cable from the white airbox. Then manually move the lever/flapper and see if you get some hot air. Also make sure the engines running when your checking for heat. If that lever doesnt change the temp (within enough time for reasonable warm-up and cool-down), then its your blend door, and mitsu should change it free I think. Its a BIG pain to do, (removing almost the whole dash, not some trim, the whole freaking thing), so hope mitsu does it for you, and be sure to check for scratches and have the rep sign something. A task like that is bound to cause some scratches, (on door panels and well, all front of your interior).
