Everytime I see a Civic with a bodykit and an aluminum wing its just a **** off because people use them as an excuse to stereotype all japanese cars. Aluminum wings originated as funcitional lightweight pieces in gt racing. Look at the wing on a dodge daytona and ask yourself, is that a riceburner? The EVO is very close to a factory race car and *real* race cars look extreme and stand out, which is something most modded slow cars attempt to emulate. Oh and BTW did i mention aluminum wings have no place on street cars...

Fury, I hear you. Im hooked on the way the Evo looks, I can't tell you how much its grown on me. Now the 350z, despite its looks, doesn't appeal to me because of its relative lack of tuneability (non turbo motors suck, imho). I was on the 350z sight telling the guys I talk to over there that I changed my mind to an Evo, and they all said things like "Yeah, a 350z with turbos would be faster" "How can you drift with a 4wd car?" and "The 350z looks better, drives better and was meant to be more of a track monster and will ultimately handle better than the Evo". Ha....i thought to myself.

Ok first off, a bunch of obviously misinformed people roam the 350z boards... I bought the EVO because I loved the car and out of the box it is unbeatable at the price, comparable only with the equally capable STI. Its stupid of them to compare a twin turbo 350z to a stock EVO simply due to the fact that the EVO's 4G63 powerplant happened to one of the most modifiable platforms around, scope out the DSM forums for proof of that. The thing that stands out most to me is the handling part, that to me is the stupidest and most misinformed comment in the whole thing because the EVO is one of the best stock track cars in the world, it even beat a Lamborghini Murcielago in one test, not to say that the 350z cant handle.

All of this, I know. Im curious if you're argueing with me or just justifying what I said?LOL, j/k. Im just yankin your chain. Yes, they are misinformed, and that just motivated me to want an Evo just that much more. They all brought up issues of classiness in a vehicle, how the Z is a better boulevarc cruiser and a bunch of bull****....oh well. I really love the Evo, and its one of the most popular cars in Japan....and nopt every ricer boy can afford one, making all of us elitests. Stick that in a 350z's tail pipes. Oh, I forgot....they have tail pipes, so they're cooler.

You are not joking about the misinformed... In some forums they actually say that the AWD is an impediment to good handling... I can't believe they'd even think such crap...

It seems to me you're definitely an Evo guy. I was once in denial too and the same way you were, when I read up on the S2000 for over a year and a half! But in the end, I couldn't lie to myself. I'm more of a performance guy and the evo definitely has almost endless practical potential (meaning it won't cost and arm and a leg to beat a viper down the drags, compared to other cars).

The Evo has it all--practicality, the safety of AWD, performance stats covering the entire board, and best of all, its future potential. It may not have luxurious looks, but tell that to the people who keep gawking at my car everytime I drive it ; tells me either the Evo is good looking too, or that they see well beyond its skin.

Well, I also see it as exclusive. I went to the track to race my bike a few weeks ago, and I saw several, if not in the teens (!) 350Zs. Mostly with chrome 20" wheels on them or some cheap bling bling. In all seriousness, I saw ONE Evo. I dont see very many driving around, and the fact is-unless some kids daddy buys him one, ricer boyz wont be able to afford one, so it makes me confident I'll have one bad-*** racer rep. It looks as if the Evo follows much like motorcycles do, technology makes its way into the cars, not watered down either. Looking at it that way and being an avid drag racer (motorcycle) and sport bike enthusiast, Im glad I found peace in the Evo. Now to get one! Again, they want 32,136 OTD with a sunroof, the petals, shift knob and the carbon wing and some other misc stuff, blue in color. I have a 1989 mazda MX6 GT Turbo with every option offered from the factory, 139K miles. I want to trade it in, KBB value is 1550 in good shape, which it is. Think I can get a thousand for it?
