Vibration under Hood

Hey guys, seeing if you might know why I'm getting a slight vibration under my hood.

Vibration starts and stops periodically and only in low RPMs. Sounds like it's coming from right under the hood, or may even be something vibrating against the hood itself. This vibration is most common when I'm at a stop light or in the parked position, where the rpms are at 1000 or below. You can tell when the car's idling at these low rpms the vibration of the engine causes something under the hood to vibrate. The vibration happens when I'm in neutral so I know it doesn't have anything to do with any mechanical issues like the clutch, or suspension, transmission, etc.

Thinking this might be one of the long bolts that hold in my battery that's slightly touching the firesheet located beneath my hood. For some reason one of the bolts holding down battery assmebly is much longer than the other. Anyhow, just seeing if anyone else has experienced this vibration under the hood at low rpm levels. Is this common, or is this just an isolated case. I know this could be a million things, just thought I'd throw it out there...

Thanx

The engine is vibrating? Well that's a given. Is it the Engine Mounts? Are you guys experiencing the same thing?

have your mom, dad, brother, sister stick their head in there while you're idling and have them see if the can pinpoint the location of the noise

I'm 28, my closest family member is 3000 miles away, plus they couldn't identify where the oil cap would be, much less a faint rattle in the engine bay. Thanks for the suggestion, but it looks like I'm gonna have to do it myself.

The annoying thing is, this sound only comes and goes when I'm in the weirdest of places. Usually on inclines, or when I'm at a stop light. I'll have to drive around a parking lot a while until I can spur the noise and hopefully identify it. The more I think about it, the more I feel it's the engine mounts or even possibly my downpipe is the cause. I hear this sound on a lot of cars and I'm guessing it's a common issue throughout many vehicles.

PS I also notice this sound kick in when I'm taking a turn. Like the power steering somehow aids in the vibration noise.

PEACE
