take off your intake
connect your boost leak tester to the turbo
pump air into it using a compressor. NOT a bicycle pump
listen for leak fix and retest

If you apply pressure to the intake and the throttle body is closed, wouldn't the control line to the BOV see lower pressure and open the valve? I'm still trying to find the best / easiest way to do leak check, that's why I ask?

if you hear the air coming out.. somewheres and your not positive of what it is. you can use like soapy water around the area and look for bubbles.. used this trick with the talon and found a few around the throttle body
