30 Cans of Advance Spray paint or so.

or go to a spray shop. Can be upwards of 3 grand.

i was thinking of buying a yellow evo (cops dream) but i wouldnt want to keep the color its the easiest color to see for a cop going fast : / i guess ill settle for a nice subtle color choice and wait a little more longer

Depends. If your looking for that show car quality, then yeah it can be pretty expensive, like starting at $3,000. But if you want a pretty decent paint job, you can get it done for $1,000 to $2,000. I painted my previously owned 3000GT VR4 from green to blue, and it cost me a $1,000. I was pretty hesistant because I thought it was gonna be cheaply done, but it turned out much nicer than I expected for $1,000 paint job. You can also go even cheaper and get done for less than $500, wouldn't recommend that though. If your looking for a decent paint job that looks nice as you daily drive your car, spend no more than $2,000, actually $1,500 would be pretty good. If your looking to compete in car shows, then your gonna need to spend more.

Sorry for the bad picture quality, it was taken with a cheapy camera a long time ago.

3000ways Thanks! I purchased a VR4 2 weekends ago to fix up some. Replaced the antenna/headlights-re-finished, cleaned up the interior, fixed broken lights,resurfaced-rotors,general cleanup and timing belt change. Now I was looking to paint, How much do you think it would cost from Red-Black?

I thought about painting my evo a unique color, but I couldnt live with areas unpainted. Like taking off a panel and seeing the original color. Would drive me nuts.

I was thinking about taking my 3000gt down to Maaco lol. (seriously)

I haven't heard any good stories from Maaco customers.

My brother had his 3000GT painted right before he sold it at Maaco and they got paint on the intercooler and on the exhaust.

What about the interior and the engine bay? Did they strip it down to paint these areas? I have a Silver Evo, I would like to change to Matte Black, but am concerned about all the work to do it right, and the chances of the bodyshop screwing something up when they R&R the motor, or any of the 1000's of other things that have to be removed in a color change.
If you got it all handled, and are happy with the job, please PM the name of the bodyshop that did it for you. I'm fairly close to you.
