Wrong, try again. The V1 is the most sensitive radar detector on the market. Nothing tops it in that department. Your Passport, however, does have better filtering which is also good. It's a much 'quieter' detector. Oh yeah, and the K40 sucks ***, dont waste your money. Blinder is a good product, but it is not the best.

If you're looking for real info on radar/laser detectors and jammers, go to radardetectors.net for unbiased info. www.guysoflidar.com is another great resource.

I was wondering if a 50% tinted front windshield would have any negative effect on V1 radar detection...anyone experience this situation?

IIRC if your tint has metal in it - yes. Otherwise only laser detection will be affected, but not radar.
It's all on V1 website and manual.

Radartest.com is run by a guy named Craig Peterson who is a paid shill that works for Bel and Escort so he bashes the V1 every chance he gets and promotes Bel and Escort products. He got busted trying to sabotage the Guysoflidar.com 2007 radar detector test and he had to part with a couple thousand dollars on top of the $1000 radar gun that he hid under camouflage on top of a mountain to throw off the testing.

Why did he try to disrupt the radar detector testing...because he knew that the Valentine One is the best at detecting radar and laser so the biased results on his site would look fishy.

Nothing beats the Valentine One and that is a proven fact.

Avoid metallic tint lint like the plague.

I bought the 9500i about a month or two ago and I love it! The GPS functionality rocks. I live in Phoenix and every mile or so we have the "Your Speed Is" signs which trip the detector (K band). If i didn't have the GPS function which allows you to mark the location and signal, I would have taken it back cause of the alerting. Just three quick button clicks on the power cable and the signal is stored.

Even if a cop is sitting by one of these signs it will alert on the cop signal and not the signal you locked out.

It is definitely pricey but since I got about $300 in credit card rewards it only cost me about $100. w00t!

I researched the heck out of these before I bought and the other detectors folks have mentioned were on my short list but I am glad I went with this one.

I have had a few radars in the past few years but I honestly love my V1. It got a little getting use to with the arrows, but now I love them because when I'm going down the highway ir a back road I know where the radar is comming from and with the twistier highways near me I can tell if he is heading towards me or on the same side of the road, always good. I would highly recomend it.

Its funny though because the V1 is so sensative it picks up the cheap-o wal mart special radar detectors. there has been more than once that ive been going down the road and the radar will start beeping only to slow down and stop after passing the only other car on the road. cheap-o radars are useless IMO.

I've thought about getting the V1 but I think that $400 or whatever it is can be better used on power mods! haha
