vortex help

I could really use some expert help. I'm looking to remove my vortex generator from my 06 MR. My questions are:
1) how do I remove it safely without ruining it, as I may want to put it back on at some point
2) what is underneath? do I have to buy a Lancer trim piece to fill-in the gap after I remove the vortex piece
3) is the radio antenna hardware salvagable once the vortex is removed?

Thanks!

My guess, it is a guess, is that it's held on by a version of 3M tape. If you want to remove it you would have to use new tape, (first removing the old stuff), maybe try goop be gone on both parts, or an adhesive remover? Should just pull off if it's warm enough out, or use a blow drier. Antenna should be fine. Just don't break it.

............and be careful with the adhesive remover, use it sparingly.

Get a 2nd opinion too, I have no V.G. lol, just guesses

u would have to pop off the water guides first.
they are the long, black plastic pieces that go from the front (hood) to the back (trunk) on both side of the car. VG tucks under the water guides.
u dont have to take them off completely, just pop off 3-4 tabs starting from the trunk and going to about 1/3 of the roof.

underneath VG is double sided tape. use fishing wire and slowly "floss the VG off. do it starting at the edges and meeting in the middle.
u cant go past the middle because of the antenna.

u will be able to reuse the antenna. no parts have to be replaced.

Thanks, Dr. Sound. Is there a silver trim piece underneath when I take of the VG?

silver trim? not sure what you mean.
are u asking if the roof is painted? if so, then yes. it looks exactly like evos without the VG.

Getting the roof nice and warm will also make it easier on your hands. Bake it in the sun all day or use a blow dryer/heat gun.
