Fuel pump not priming, injectors not firing

I had a buddy put a Walbro 255 fuel pump in his running Evo 8. He tried to start it and nothing. He then decided to build his motor after a mishap with some ether. Now that I got his car back together for him, the issue is still there.

The fuel pump primes with direct power and ground to pins 4 and 5. If you plug it in to the harness and cycle the key it doesn't prime.

The injectors aren't firing when your turn the motor over.

I've checked every fuse in the engine bay and in the dash. They are all good.

Fuel pump fuse 1 and 2 ohmed at 130 ohms.

The immobilizer green key light is not on in the dash.

I replaced the mfi relay on the firewall with a known good one and nothing.

Is there anything else to check, or any suggestions on what it might be?

this prob wont make sence but ill try to make sence...

But, you know how you disconnect the wires to pull the fuel pump out, make sure those wires are connected because when i put my 255 in i thought i plugged the wires and they seemed like they were but they were not. i unplugged them and re plugged them and it started.

sorry if that didnt make sence and i know some ppl are going to say im an idiot but aw well...

I just put a new plug on the cam sensor (not the whole thing), because it was broken sometime during disassembly.

Does the fuel pump require a good cam sensor in order prime? It's a 2005, I thought you only had to have the key to on in order for the fuel pump to turn on.

I had a something similar to this problem, I have the aem ems and my injectors had no pulse. I also had no signal to my ignition, meaning that it was the ems. Sent it to Aem, it was the E-Pump that went out. Great company, did the work for free and shipped it for free. I was down less than a week. So, aside from the cps, which was my first guess with my problem, i would go to the ems.

oh, and i'm running the aem standalone. If you still have the stock stuff, then it could be something similar? Not sure, good luck.

The car is running the stock ECU. Is there any way to test the ECU to see if it's good or not?

I'm not sure. Try a code reader? Hmm... maybe..

Crank position sensor? I know that's what you unplug to stop fuel and ignition for a compression test. Also 130 ohms across a fuse seems pretty high. It should be damn near zero. V=IR so if R is 130ohms, even 1 amp through that resistor will drop the voltage at the pump to zero. I don't know what current a fuel pump is supposed to draw.

I pulled codes today and there was nothing. I've got about a minute of crank time on it to see if the ecu would pick up on a bad sensor or something. I think it's a bad ecu but I'll probably take it to the dealer.

It sounds like a cam angle sensor or a crank sensor. That's what happens when those two things don't sync, you'll get fuel but no spark.
