I have 35 grand.
If I had that kind of money I would pay off my house and other debt then invest the rest. Be smart with your money now and it will pay off down the road. I had a buddy get $80k and it was gone in a year and he has nothing to show for it.
agreed...i know quite a few people like that...i know because i managed a speed shop and sold them all their parts and after a few years were broke and sold the car as the bill racked up...now i dont even know where they are or what they do now
Well it's your money, so spend it however you please. As other have said, however, a much smarter thing to do would be to get some solid financial advice from a professional. With $400,000, you can have some tremendous leverage if you play your cards right. You'd be amazed just how easy it is to make money with that kind of investment. Oh, and skip mutual funds.

Roger that. My wife and I have two of the best blue collar jobs on the island and i can barley afford to keep my 9 with the house and all. Must be nice.
