Hey people i owuld like to know what is the intercooler sprayer used for on the evo IX MR? i saw one today and the button was near the handbrake it had Auto and Manual... so I was wondering.

 

To further cool the charge. Thus making it denser I believe.

 

i thought that only the 03-04 evo's has that... but what it does is it sprays water to your Front mount Intercooler either manually, or auto. once its on auto ill only spray on a certain temp/speed...........

I thought this would be obvious but guess not... I can swear the 05's and newer models don't have the sprayer due to the acd pump in the sprayer's place. But then again you're in Jamaica so I can only vouch for the USDM models.

 

It's nice to have it but depends on what you do with your Evo, you might not need it that much. I would assume if you are running 400 or more whp, it would be nice to have it

 

Of course if he has Tephra's mod then he may also be running the Alt map switching! Do a search for Alt Map and you should find a great thread about it! Of course it could just be a FMIC sprayer. LOL then it would be as described above.

EVO 9 don't have the intercooler spray

 

I've honestly never used it, in either of my evo's.

 

 

True the 05 and later USDM Evo's don't have the sprayer. However the console switch is to easy to put in for the Alt Map switching like I said. It is a really cool function and easy to wire in.

I know in Australia, they do have an intercooler sprayer in the IX. They also have an 07 IX model....... NO FAIR!!

So all that cr@p the dealers said about the IX not having the sprayer because of the ACD is BS.

 

'05+ evos don't have it because it's useless.

BUT if you are into pretending to be vin diesel and pressing a button for some sweet NOS then i guess it has a use
