$3.99 / gal...might be time for E85....
No one should be glad about any of these gas prices!!! Yes some of us are paying less than others but the point is they are too high and for no good reason. Has anyone heard and honest and strait foward answer on why the gas prices conitue to rise?? I think not.
good call. we all feel relieved now, knowing their profits aren't incredibly high, just very high.
so, basically, the stimulus makes everything better becuase instead of people making headway on paying off their debts or saving for the future or upgrading an inefficient household appliance, they instead get the priveledge of forwarding their tax rebate to exxon, shell, et al?
someone obviously isn't paying attention.
again, you have been quoted. so everyone can have a chuckle.

it is all the governments fault on this. i think it sucks to pay 3.59 a gallon just to cut my F#($in lawn. Alot of people seem to think increasing minimum wage is the best thing for the economy. i say lower the 1.60 sales tax on a gallon of gas would help a ton. or they could alway tapp into the alaskan wild life reserve up there and start processing the oil reserves.
my $.02 sorry this subject really Pisses me off.

I firmly believe that ethanol is going to be the answer, at least for the foreseeable future. Once the producers move on to sources other than corn (namely switchgrass) and perfect the refining process, it will really take off.
Here is my question :
I have purchased the 1000cc injectors, the Walboro pump and also a wideband. I spoke with Buschur earlier today.. they told me to get a double pump and that they would not tune it on the stock ECU.
I spoke with AMS and they said that they would tune it, but recommend the 880 injectors. They said with the stock turbo and ECU, the idle would be all messed up with the 1000cc's.
Any input on this? I dont intend on going with a larger turbo until next year or beyond.....
Thanks for the help guys.

Chicago:
E85 (~105octane)= $3.10 14gal- $43.40
Shell 93unleaded=$4.25 14gal- $59.50
Sunoco 110leaded= $5.50 14gal- $77.00
Difference on a 14gal fill between e85 and 93? $16.10. Pretty substantial; keep reading...
E85 burns just about ~25% faster than gasoline so theoretically to compare with 93octane, it'd cost $10.85 more on top of the $43.40, ($43.40 x 25% = $10.85) on a full tank of e85 to last as long as 93octane would, which would then bring the total for a 14gal tank of e85 up to $54.25, a savings of $5.25 over a full tank of 93octane fuel -note you will fill more often, but financially already calculated in ^^ figures. NOW, you figure into the equation the safety measures of running e85 properly, (MUCH larger than OE injectors ~880cc on a stock turbo setup, a double-pumper fuelpump ~$500) and then calculate the net benefits.
**Keep in mind this is assuming zero to little boost and losing ONLY ~25% mpg over 93octane; those with a heavy foot need to increase this percentile.
To me, the burden of a.) finding a e85 station and b.) filling almost everyday highly underweigh "benefits" of e85; I'll take the convenience of paying $5.25 more on a full tank of 93octane over e85.

I knew trying to bring up basic economics and common sense in a thread like this was a waste of time.Don't like high prices? DRIVE LESS. Cut consumption and prices will fall (speculation in the markets aside). Or encourage the U.S. govt. to allow more drilling.
Alternatively, ***** and moan because you bought a car with poor petrol mileage. That's going to help.
Rest assured I am not the person who "doesn't get it."
